School Newsletter 26th Sept 2019 Term 3 Whats’ Happening this Week School Diary 23-27 Sept Y8 Wgtn Trip 27 Sept Full School Assembly We are having a wonderful holiday and currently enjoying Ireland’s beautiful Led by Room 1 scenery, hospitality and we have even kissed the Blarney Stone! 27 Sept End of Term 3 Term 4 I have spoken to Ms Harwood and the 14 Oct Start of Term 4 children who are currently in Wellington on their Cultural ex- perience, several times. They also are having a 18 Oct Athletics Day wonderful time and are due back home Saturday. 28 Oct Labour Day Thank you to those of you who have got their Walkathon School Closed Sponsorship money in. If you haven't it would be great if you can do so tomorrow. 4 Nov Kids 4 Kids A reminder that uniform sun hats need to be worn next term. 14 Nov Teachers Only Day These can be purchased from The Warehouse. School Closed Term 3 ends tomorrow. I hope you have a great break with your children and look forward to catching up with you all on 15 Nov Show Day our return. Room 7 Library Visit & Life Education The Life Education bus was at OLV last week, all the classes took part. The weather has been very kind to us. It hasn't been too windy all the time! Here are a few photos of the last few days. Yesterday we visited parliament , went up the cable car followed by our second visit to Captial E where we filmed Once Upon a Crime. Then we had our session at Te Papa with Martin one of the educators going through the Gallipoli exhibition. Tea back at the YHA then WOW! Bishop Paul studied in theology and arts at Victoria University in Wellington. He has taught English and Religious Education in New Zealand. At the time of his appointment Bishop Paul was General Bursar for the Society of Mary in Rome. On 5 December 2017, he was appointed, by Pope Francis, Bishop of the Christchurch Diocese and was ordained on Saturday 3 March 2018 by Cardinal John Dew, Archbishop of Wellington, Bishop Emeritus of Christchurch Basil Meeking and Bishop Charles Drennan of Palmerston North. “Private prayer is like straw scattered here and there: If you set it on fire it makes a lot of little flames.
