Fortnite By Lucas Scibetta Tutor: Allison Atwood

Fortnite is my favorite video game. Fortnite is a video game with less violence than others. You get dropped in a map by a battle bus. Sometimes you are on a team and you’re trying to beat the other team. The whole Fortnite world used to look like Save the World in season 1.

In season 4 of Fortnite, there was a meteor that crashed into the ground and made a giant hole. This hole was called Dusty Divot and it became a part of a map. In season 5, there was a rocket that was trying to destroy part of a map. The rocket was trying to destroy Tilted Towers. Tilted Towers was saved by a rift. A rift is a mini portal, and it dropped the rocket from the sky.

In the new chapter of Fortnite, chapter 2, you have to earn new maps by going to other parts of the maps. There are between 12 and 20 parts to the maps. If you find all the letters of “Fortnite”, you get a new skin. A skin is a new design for a character. In chapter 2, you are able to swim, drive boats, and fish. The fish that you catch can give you health. I can’t wait to go home and play Fortnite!

A DAY OF FORTNITE By Branson LeSane Tutor: Maddie Baker

One day Chase and I got off the school bus and headed home. We did homework together so we could soon play Fortnite. After Chase and I finished our homework, we headed to my game room, grabbed our controllers and logged into the game. When we began to play, we hopped on the Battle Bus and headed to find our loot. This loot would help us take out the robbers and take them to jail. When Chase and I opened the chest, we realized that it was empty, so we would have to head to King’s Castle to get the loot. We then began on our journey to King’s Castle by following the “King’s Castle” path, taking us there. It took us 27 minutes to get to the castle. Once we arrived, we had to open three secret doors to get to the chests full of loot. After the final door, we entered the King’s Room where there was loot everywhere! The King then woke up and began asking us questions. He wanted to know if we had the skills to use his loot of supplies since we were strangers. We explained that we were skilled cops and had made good arrests. He let us take the chests full of loot. Chase and I grabbed our chests and headed back to the police house. Once we got there, we created a plan to get the robbers. After a few hours, we were able to get all the robbers and put them in jail, all thanks to the King’s loot.

The Great Escape By Michael Enriquez Tutor: Madison Barbee

One day in a very hot California zoo, there was a panda named Oreo and a giraffe named Jeffrey. They lived side by side but never knew each other. One day Oreo climbed a bamboo tree and saw Jeffrey. Oreo asked Jeffrey, “Are you a new animal here?” “No, I have lived here for a long time,” Jeffrey said. Then they started talking, but after a while, Oreo spotted a hole in the fence of Jeffrey’s cage. Oreo thought of going through the fence and letting the animals free. He told Jeffrey about his plan to escape the zoo. Jeffrey thought it was a good idea and he mentioned letting Oreo slide down his neck and crawl over to the hole. The next night, Oreo climbed the bamboo tree to be the same height as Jeffrey. He then jumped onto Jeffrey’s neck and slid all the way down. Then Oreo crawled through the hole in Jeffrey’s cage. It was a tight squeeze but Oreo wiggled through. Oreo found the zookeeper’s office and crawled through the window. He noticed the shiny keys on top of the zookeeper’s desk. He quickly grabbed the keys and quietly climbed out through the window. When Oreo got back to Jeffrey’s cage, it was very early in the morning. Oreo and Jeffrey decided to release all of the animals in the zoo. Jeffrey quickly grabbed the keys and unlocked every single cage in the zoo. Since the animals were making a lot of noise, the zookeeper heard the ruckus and noticed a lot of movement on the security cameras. As the animals ran to the exit, they were being chased by the zookeeper. But, the zookeeper skipped leg day so he couldn’t catch up to all of the animals. The animals got out of the zoo and found new homes where they could live happily. After that day, every animal from the zoo celebrated a new holiday known as The Great Escape.

Otis Ruins Sam’s Birthday By Allison Lopez Tutor: Sam Utz

One day at the park, my family helped me set up Sam’s birthday party. The park had swings, slides, and was near a creek. There were lots of fish and frogs in the creek. We drank smoothies, soda, juice, and water. We ate pizza, spaghetti, cake, and cupcakes. The cupcakes were decorated with chocolate frosting. We played Candyland on a picnic table, and we drew pictures with chalk. We drew pictures of butterflies, flowers, and cake. Suddenly, Otis the tractor came to Sam’s birthday party. He was crazy! He smashed all the cupcakes and cake. He drank all the drinks, and he ran over the games with his muddy tires. Candyland was ruined, and so were our chalk drawings. He was crazy because he ate a lot of sugar. We smashed the rest of the cake in Otis’ face! Otis got even crazier. His tires got all twisted in the swings. We went over to help him because he was stuck. Otis apologized for ruining Sam’s birthday party. He was glad we helped him. We told him it was okay, we still had some left over cakes, cupcakes, drinks, and food. He was happy that we said it was okay. As an apology, he offered to drive us around the park. Then everyone was happy. The End

Bob, the Dog who Lived on Saturn By Rodrigo Aguilera-Perez Tutor: Autumn Bartley

In December of 3020, there was a dog that lived on Saturn with his friends, the aliens. The dog’s name was Bob. One day Bob was feeling very lonely, and the aliens who were his friends were just not enough. He sat there on his spaceship while his alien owners were away doing space work stuff. Bob was really, really sad wishing there were more dogs in outer space. Then suddenly, one of the aliens zapped into where Bob was. The alien said “Bob, what’s wrong?” Bob said, “I am sad because there are no other dogs here to play with.” “Then why don’t we go get some of the other dogs?” Bob replied “How? I thought the evil ruler of outer space named Rat took all of the dogs for himself.” “He tried, Bob, but look at you. You are here, and he is 5 million light years away.” Bob and his friends set out on a secret mission to find the other dogs who were trapped away on the evil villain’s planet. Finally, when they reached the planet where Rat lived, they found three of the dogs right there at the gate. Bob jumped in and said, “You’re coming with us. Let's get you out of this place.” The three new dogs and Bob saw each other. They quickly became best friends. Suddenly, Rat came in and said, “WHAT IS GOING ON HERE? WHO ARE YOU? ALL OF YOU ARE NEVER GETTING OFF OF MY PLANET.” Bob and the aliens were sent to the Rat’s evil lair. He took them to where his assistants, the chickens, took prisoners. After being held for a few hours, the chickens had enough. The chickens did not like Rat, and they were tired of obeying him. The chickens agreed and said, “You guys are all free to go.” Bob, the aliens, and the three other dogs escaped back to Saturn and they all lived happily ever after. They never heard from Rat ever again.

Trip to Hawaii By Charlee Nicolini Tutor: JT Bentfield

John lived in a house in Pennsylvania. John went on a trip to Hawaii and got a hotel in Hawaii. Then he went to the beach, found a clown fish and made it his pet. John turned around and saw a frog, and it became his pet too. He took his new pets back to his fancy hotel. His hotel neighbor knocked on his door with a bird on his shoulder. John was very confused. Suddenly, the big bird jumped off his shoulder, flew around the hotel room and ate all of John’s snacks. John went outside to his fancy hotel backyard and saw a camel hiding in the bushes. The camel yelled, “Wake up John. Wake up!” Then John woke up and it was all a dream. There were no fish, no frog, no neighbor with a bird on their shoulder, and no camel. Plus, he was back in his bed at his house in Pennsylvania.

Once upon a time, there was a boy named Erick. He woke up and it was snowing out. When he saw the snow, he was excited to go play outside. Video Games are Brilliant

By Parker Wahnefried Tutor: Alexandria Branson

Video games are good because they can help you pay attention better. They can also inspire gamers to make children’s games that include math, reading, and more. Some people think videogames are bad. I believe that they are good because they help people who have ADHD, train soldiers, and inspire learning. Students can learn more about things with video games because a lot of them include math and reading. Some kids do not pay attention to school because they play too many videogames. They should stop and turn off the power from time to time. I think video games are good because they help me learn to pay attention better. This helps me to pay attention in class better and pay attention to tests in school. They also help me to stop fidgeting so I have control and can pay attention better. They have taught me strategy skills and have improved my reading. Other people think that video games are bad, and this may be true to them. But some video games are good because they help me to pay attention, it also taught other people skills, like soldiers. Overall, videogames are valuable things.

The Revenge of Grandma Lulu: Part 1 By Maria Villasenor Tutor: Liz Hewett

On the night of Halloween, a girl named Ava sat watching “Goosebumps”. She had just moved to America from Mexico and was excited for her first Halloween. While she was watching the movie, her mom decided to go to the bank before it was time to go trick or treating, leaving her home alone. Once her mom left, Ava turned off the movie to go unpack her room when she heard something drop to the ground with a thud. She turned around to find her Mom’s picture on the ground. Terrified, she quickly ran to her room and slammed the door breathing heavily from fear. Then she thought she heard noisy whispers coming from the other side of the door saying her name, “Avaaaaa.” As she tried to calm down a note slipped from under the door which read “Ava it’s me, Grandma Lulu.” Ava was surprised. She had only heard stories about Grandma Lulu. She anxiously opened the door to find the bright, pink ghost of Grandma Lulu floating in the hallway. As Ava stepped out of her doorway, she heard her mom come home and Ava called out, “Mom come here!” When Ava’s Mom saw Grandma Lulu in the hallway, she gasped in surprise. Then she told Ava to get in her room now! Ava slammed her door shut. Quickly, Ava grabbed a cup, put it to the door to listen and heard her mom say, “…and stay away from Ava she has nothing to do with the death of your grandson!” Suddenly Ava heard an angry voice say, “You took my only grandson now I’m going to take your only daughter!” As Ava opened her door, she saw the ghost of Grandma Lulu snap her fingers and her mom vanish.

Facts about Dogs By Melody Zapata Tutor: Emily Calarco

I wrote about dogs because I always wanted a dog and I think they are good friends. I am going to talk about three type of dogs. The three types are Dalmatians, Huskies and Labrador Retrievers.

My favorite type of dogs are Dalmatians. Dalmatians can grow tall; about 19 to 24 inches. They can weigh 24 to 70 pounds. They can live up to 13 years. Some qualities of Dalmatians are that they are dignified, smart and outgoing. The Dalmatian is a spotted dog. Dalmatians are amazing!

Now I am going to talk about huskies. Huskies can be different colors. A female husky weighs about 35 to 50 pounds. A male weighs 45 to 60 pounds. A female Husky’s height is 20 to 22 inches. A male’s height is 21 to 23.5 inches. Huskies have a northern heritage; this means they like the cold. I think Huskies are cute.

Labrador Retrievers are my third favorite dog. Male Labs weigh 65 to 80 pounds and a female weighs 55 to 70 pounds. A female's height is 22.5 to 24.5 inches and a male's height is 21.5 to 23.5 inches. Labs are medium sized. Labs come in different colors and have lots of energy. Labs are also known for being strong.

Overall, each dog breed is unique and all have different features. Dogs have their own personalities. I love dogs. I think they are amazing. I want a dog so bad, I hope I get one in the future.

Joe By Jacob Gallan Tutor: Kimberly Cherry

It was the year 2000; Joe had a very good life. He was in his forties and he was tall, thin, and had brown hair. He was also a trillionaire. He got 200 million dollars from winning the lottery. He used that money to build a company. It was one of the world’s biggest company. It was called The U.S. Always Wins. It was where a team would compete against another team and the winning team would get a couple million dollars. They would compete in different events. The biggest event was when they played flag football using paintball guns in a stadium. The teams would get paid when people threw money at them. Joe would make trillions every day. The story starts when Joe was in his house (the biggest in the world) and he walked to his room to go to sleep. Little did he know he was going to walk into a nightmare. Joe went to sleep until he heard a loud noise Scrapppppppp Scrappppppp. He got his flashlight and walked downstairs. The scraping noise seemed to be coming from the basement. He went downstairs. He heard whispering and footsteps; it was as if he walked into a horror movie. He saw a tall masked man. In a frightening voice Joe said, “Who’s there?” He heard a loud bang. He had been knocked out……He woke up in a glass case. He was enclosed. One year later Joe woke up in the glass case, but the top of the case had been opened. He got out and stretched a lot. He was starving. On his watch, it said 2001. “What?! I was here for a year?” Joe cried out. He had no food, so he went to the grocery store. He saw the same masked man that enclosed him in the glass case. He went outside and lunged at the man. A fat storekeeper said, “I’m not part of this.” The masked man said, “Help me, Marco!” The fat storekeeper took a dive at Joe. Joe then saw a man he recognized. It came back to his memory. It was his friend Owen. Joe said “Help, Owen!” Owen said “Okay.” Then he knocked them out in 5 seconds. “What are we going to do with them?” Owen asked, “Enclose them,” Joe said.

The Day I Flew By Jazmin Diaz Tutor: Lydia Cook

One day I was at the park and I saw a lion whose name was Lily. She was so beautiful! She was in front of my face. She was big and very furry. I thought she wanted to play with me... BUT NO... she wanted to eat me. She began to chase me.

I have a big secret to tell you...I was born with golden wings. I'm going to finally use them, so I can escape from the lion. I started flying, but then I stopped because I started getting tired from all of that flying. I landed in a place called heaven, which for me meant Paris…not just anywhere in Paris, but at the Eiffel tower. It's this big triangular building with beautiful lights.

All of a sudden, Lily the lion ruined the beautiful moment. She found me! I started flapping my golden wings, and put my tail up. I started shooting golden chocolate balls at Lily the lion because she was trying to eat me. The delicious milk chocolate exploded and she got scared. The explosion is what distracted her. Meanwhile, I had time to take out my golden wings and fly away, safe and sound. The good thing was that I never saw her again in my entire life.

The Mario Adventure By Matthew Greene Tutor: Ashley Dunn

First, I was at my Mimaw’s wedding. I saw a rainbow banana at the food table. I ate it and turned into Mario. I was still really hungry, so I ate an orange. Then I turned into fire power Mario. I said, “Maybe I should use my fire power on robbers to get them to go to the police station.” I was still really hungry so I ate one grape. The grape turned me into sidekick, fire power Mario. I used my sidekick fire power to look into the mud monster’s mind to find his weakness. I found his weakness. His weakness was water. I ate a blueberry and I turned into fire water, sidekick power Mario. I looked into his brain again to find his weakness because I forgot. Then I used my water power to wash the mud monster away. I saw a rainbow pear and I turned into star, fire water, sidekick power Mario. I was still very hungry. I saw a chocolate cupcake. When I ate the chocolate cupcake, I had super arms and I used them to save people. There was a super-hot nacho cheese volcano that was about to erupt. I used my super arms to grab all of the people and move them where there was no super-hot nacho cheese. I was still very hungry so I ate a strawberry, and I turned into lava super arm, star, fire water sidekick Mario. There was a massive flood coming, so I used my lava powers to make lava. The water cooled the lava down and turned it into rock to save the town. I was still very hungry. I saw my favorite fruit of all time! I ate a mango and turned into super fast, lava, super arm, star, fire water sidekick Mario. I used my super speed to save a child that was in great danger. There was a giant monster right in front of her, and I used my super speed to stop time like Flash and take her back to her house. Her parents were so glad that she was safe. I went to the grocery store, and then I saw a golden strawberry mango. I ate it and I turned into gold Mario. Gold super speed, super arm, star fire, water sidekick Mario. There was an avalanche, and I used my gold stretchy arms and gold stretchy legs and blocked the rockslide to save the whole town. I was almost so full. I could only eat one more thing. I ate a pizza and turned back into a human. Then I went back to Mimaw’s wedding. I danced really fast and did a split. I was so tired I used my super sleeping powers to take a super nap. The end.

I don’t like poems.

By Jun Park Tutor: Robin Edmonds

A poem is full of confusion.

I have nothing to add to the class discussion

because it makes my brain turn white.

They turn me dark as night.

I am left with a concussion.

A poem makes me sleepy.

They also can be a little creepy,

even writing one is difficult.

Do I need to understand them to become an adult?

By the end of the poem, I’m weepy.

Best Day

By Alana Johnson Tutor: Ciara Garner

It was a cold night on December 15th, 2015. My baby brother, Bryson Parker Johnson (Jr squirt) was born. I was five years old at the time. It all started when I was asleep in my bed and suddenly I heard my mom screaming. My sister ran in and woke me up. It was time to go to the hospital. The baby was coming! My daddy drove my momma, and my Auntie drove my sister and me in the car behind them. When we got to the hospital, we had to wait in the waiting room for what seemed like forever. My daddy was panicking because he was scared that the baby was going to look like my mom because all of the girls look just like her. Finally, the Doctor called us in to meet our baby brother and when I saw him, he looked like an Angel wrapped up in the blue blanket that my mom bought him. I remember seeing my dad falling on his knees excited, screaming, “Thank you, Jesus, the baby has red hair like me!” We were all so happy. When I came in, I sat down and my momma handed Bryson to me. When I looked at his sweet face, I knew from that day on, I would always care for him.

The Story of Avery and Pip

By Trinity Jordan Tutor: Dallas Hukill

One day, there was a girl named Avery walking in the woods. Suddenly, she found a wounded wolf. Avery approached it slowly. She shouted, "Are you okay?!" The wolf looked up at her and said, "No, my leg got stuck in the fence when I tried to jump over it." Avery was shocked when she heard the wolf talk back to her. Avery looked at the wolf and said, "Oh my goodness, you can talk?!" The wolf said, "Yes, I can talk, and my name is Pip." Avery thought that Pip was in a lot of pain, so she scooped him up and took him home. On the long walk home, the two of them started to get to know each other more, and they decided to be BFFL's. Once Avery and Pip got home, she healed him and said, "You'll be better in a month." Then Pip said, "I don't want to go!" So Avery asked, "Can you be my pet, Pip?" and he said yes. They lived happily ever after as the bestest of friends.

Sparkles the butterfly was drinking orange juice and eating flowers outside one morning. I was sleeping and she flew into my window and woke me up. She flapped her wings on my cheek. I got out of bed and put my slippers on. She flew back outside and I followed her. She flew into the woods where we saw a cat. Sparkles and I decided to adopt the cat. We named her Rainbow because she had rainbow fur. She was so cuddly. We took her back to the house and fed her watermelon and water. She was the best cat ever, and I loved her very much. We went on many adventures to find more kittens. We saw many different colored kittens. We adopted them all. We had to get cat food, water, and beds for our new friends. We all lived happily in the woods together. One day a snake came to our home in the woods. We all ran together to my house and locked the door. I watched movies with all my cats, and we ate tons of ice cream and milk. We all lived happily ever after. The end.

Awbie’s quest was to get to the end of the cave and on the way, he had to gather wood and strawberries. Awbie had to slap away the beavers to get wood or strawberries from them but if he missed them, they would run away to another spot. Another thing was that the pond was in the way for Awbie to get to the end. The logs and lily pads helped Awbie to get to the other side without sinking. Next, Awbie ran into a bunny. If he went near it, the bunny would leave strawberries behind him. Before Awbie went in the pond, there was a trampoline for him to jump on and after he did that, he would be launched to another place in the cave. When he got launched to the other place, he ran over the purple star that turned him purple. Even the strawberries turned purple! Another trampoline bounced Awbie back to the pond. Finally, Awbie chased all of the beavers away then he went to eat all of the pies and escaped the cave.

Cheetahs

By Esteban Garcia-Aragon Tutor: Rachel Mellinger

Today I want to teach you about Cheetahs. They are my favorite animals! Most cheetahs live in Africa. You can also find them in rainforests. When they are hungry, they mainly eat gazelles. Cheetahs don’t actually bite their prey; they suffocate them, because they have small teeth. They can run 65 to 75 miles per hour. Can you run that fast? Cheetahs can see about three miles away, which is less than humans. They also can grow up to 3 feet tall, which is pretty short. Usually cheetahs live from about 10 to 12 years. Cheetahs have 30 teeth in all. Their bite force is 475 pounds. On a cheetah’s tongue are papillae, which feels like sandpaper. They can weigh up to 160 pounds. The highest a cheetah can jump up to is 12 feet. I really want to see a cheetah someday. I like cheetahs because they run super-fast and because they’re similar to the team, the black panthers and the animal, the Black Panther.

When I grow up…

By Eimy Rodriguez Tutor: Lindsay Nichols

When I grow up, I want to be a dental hygienist. This dream started at the age of 5 years old. Before this dream, I wanted to be a police officer because I wanted to help the community. However, when I realized all of the things a policewoman would have to face, I changed my mind. I switched to a dental hygienist because I still want to help people, but this time with their teeth. I think dental hygiene is really important because you only have one set of permanent teeth, and you want your teeth to be clean and healthy. My cousin is my inspiration for wanting to be a dental hygienist because she is in training to be one herself.

Fun Facts:

 You only have two sets of teeth (baby teeth and adult), and one of them you lose  Dogs have 43 teeth, cats have 30 teeth, and armadillos have 104 teeth, while an adult will have 30 teeth  Every person’s tongue and teeth have prints that are unique to them (like a finger print)

Knights vs Samurai By Joshua Ceron-Villegas Tutor: Dylan Secero

It starts in 1991 when a king named Arthur made the knights hurt the people. Then the knights knew that what they did was wrong. They saw the people suffering, hurting, and in pain. In 1996, there were different types of knights. There were Blue knights, Dark knights, Light knights, Red knights, and Gladiators. In 1999, the knights made a plan to defeat King Arthur. In 2000, all the knights fight King Arthur. The knights win the battle. In 2006, the knights build their own knight tower. The knights know how to control their own electronics. One day, a Blue knight named Jade watched the news when a Japanese lady told everyone that the samurais are invading Japan. Then the samurais enslaved all of the Japanese people. After that, Jade told all of the knights that Japan was in danger. The knights traveled to Japan by boat to save the Japanese people and defeat the samurai. Then all the trees in Japan were cut down and it was all trashy. They could tell that it was bad. First the knights knew they had to deal with the samurai and then they wanted to help the Japanese people and clean up everything. First, the knights went to the samurai hideout and then the samurai suddenly came out of nowhere and started to attack the knights. The samurai leader came there and told the rest of the samurai to block the knights. Jade told the leader of the samurai to free the people and stop hurting them. The chief samurai said he didn’t want to free the people, so then the chief of the samurai started attacking the knights. The gladiators fought along with the knights. Finally, the battle began. The gladiators fought ten samurai, and one gladiator that had cool weapons fought all ten samurais and helped all the other gladiators. The dark knights fought the omega samurai. Then the gladiators and all of the knights defeated all of the samurai. Now the final battle is going to be Jade vs. the chief samurai. Then Jade said, “We don’t have to fight! Why do the Japanese people deserve this? Deserve to be slaves?” The chief samurai told Jade that he wanted to rule Japan. Jade then defeated the chief samurai and so they surrendered. After the chief samurai surrendered, Jade went and freed all of the slaves. Jade told all of the Japanese people to stop cutting down trees and littering because it is bad. They’re killing all the animals! Jade told the Japanese people that trees are good because they give you oxygen to breathe. Japan changed after that, and people did not litter and took out the trash. There is a serious problem that is happening in our world. There are countries in the world that are cutting down trees, littering, and destroying the ecosystem. Trees give you oxygen, and so we want people to stop cutting down trees and littering. That causes turtles to die, along with other animals like pelicans, fish, and sharks. They can get sick or injured from all the pollution. So please stop littering and cutting down the trees. The end. Author Showcase – Betty Holden Stike Education Laboratory – Fall 2019 ~ 59 ~

Fortnite is my favorite videogame. I like Fortnite because I can play with my friends, do challenges, and buy stuff from the item shop like skins. I got a skin from doing challenges. The challenge was going in the rift at Loot Lake and landing at KEVIN THE CUBE. Then I went inside the CRATER and searched inside a Fortbyte. Then I got a skin. I got the Scientist. It is red and black and comes with a matching book bag and wrapper.

The Most Daring Mission By Maxton Pridgen Tutor: Emma Twigg

“Hey this is Mike. I am the bravest one, I like to go on adventures, and I have a lot of friends.” “Hi this is Ike. I am shy. I only have three friends, and I do not like going to new places at all - only if people force me to.” Mike and Ike are in their rocket ship about to land on the moon. They are going to tell us the good, the bad, and the great things about being on the moon. “This is Mike and I am going to tell you the good, the bad, and the great things of being on the moon. The bad part is meteor showers. I am braver than Ike, so it does not bother me. But Ike hides behind me as the meteors shoot by. One time they almost hit Ike! The good part of the moon is landing safely. The great part is finding a girl on the moon. They are something we see once in a blue moon! I crack myself up.” Mike and Ike land back on Earth safely. They are going to explain the good, the bad, and the great things about being on land. “Hi, this is Ike and I am going to tell you the good, the bad, and the great things about being on land. The bad is gravity because you can’t jump around. On the moon, you can jump super high because it is very bouncy. Mike, could you say the rest about the good, the bad, and the great?” “No Ike, I always do it. YOU tell it.” “Ok, the good part is also gravity because it keeps us on the ground when we jump high. The great part is landing successfully.” Mike and Ike miss the moon, but they are brave astronauts. Their most daring mission of them all was when they went on a picnic!

What I Would Do if Someone Stole My Pumpkin

By Dominick Contreras Tutor: Aaron Wyatt

Hello, my name is Dominick! If someone stole my pumpkin, I would let them have it because I don’t know what they are going through, and I can just buy another one. If I find out who it was, I would have said, “You should have asked, but you can have the pumpkin.” The reason I feel this way is because my family taught me to give to other people, “BUT NOT MY SISTER!”

What would you do if someone stole your pumpkin?

Jason the Velociraptor By Zander Zenteno Tutor: Abeer Zayyad

Once upon a time, there was a little dinosaur named Jason. Jason is a velociraptor. Jason just woke up and saw that the sun was shining so bright. His stomach growled. He was very hungry. He told his mama that he was going to find food. His favorite is chicken, especially fried chicken. As he walked, he heard a rustle in the bushes… “I’m scared!” said Jason. He heard the noise getting louder. “Oh no! Please do not eat me!” yelled Jason. Then, a baby bird jumped out of the bushes!

Jason said, “It was just a baby bird. There was nothing to be scared of.” Then, the baby bird, who was named Penny, started crying. She cried, “Help me, I cannot find my mama!” Jason said, “What is your name baby bird?” The baby bird said, “My name is Penny.” Jason asked, “Where did you last see your mama?” Penny replied, “Up in that tree,” as she pointed to the tallest tree in the land. Jason was surprised. “That tree is so tall!” he said. Then Jason's friend Terry the pterodactyl flew by.

Jason yelled “Hey, Terry! Come down here! I need your help!” Terry landed beside Jason. Jason asked Terry if he could take Penny back to her nest in the tallest tree in the land. Terry looked up at the tall tree. “Yes, I will take her!” Jason then thanked Terry and said “Bye, Penny! I hope you find your mama!”

It started to get dark so Jason decided to head home. When he got home, he found his favorite food, fried chicken, on the table.

“I love you mama. Thank you for all you do!”

THE END
