Vietnam Veterans have until Jan. 15 at 10 a.m. to register online to be recognized at the ceremony by going to the Arkansas Department of Veteran Affairs website: www.veterans.arkansas/gov and selecting “Yes” at the pop-up or following the link for the event. Veterans can also complete a paper registration by Jan. 12 with their county veteran service officer. On New Year’s Day 2018, start the year off on the right foot with a morn- ing hike around the park’s Little Missouri River Trail, as part of the nation-wide First Day Hikes initiative. Martha Stewart Roast Turkey with Brown Sugar and Mustard Glaze A practically instant sweet - and - spicy mixture of mustard and brown sugar flavors the bird and gives the skin an impressive golden brown color TOTAL TIME 4 hours 15 minutes. PREP 15 minutes SERVINGS 10 Merry Christmas Ingredients 1 whole turkey & Happy New Year! (about 12 pounds), thawed if frozen, rinsed and patted dry (neck and giblets reserved, liver May the peace discarded) Coarse salt and ground pepper. 4 cups Pecan Corn- & joy of a merry bread Dressing 2 tablespoons butter, room temperature. Rotate pan, and continue to roast turkey, brushing with glaze 2 to 3 more times, until thermometer registers 165 degrees, 45 minutes to 1 hour more (tent with buttered foil if browning too quickly; add more water if pan becomes dry). 4. Transfer turkey to a platter; reserve pan with drippings for gravy (opposite). Cover turkey loosely with foil, and let rest at least 30 minutes (or up to 1 hour). Before serving, remove dressing, and carve.
