The tragic death of Captain Danny Fredman in the line of duty was a profound loss not only to his family and friends, but to the whole House of Israel which has lost one of its finest sons.

Danny was born in Johannesburg in October 1958, the eldest son of Marion and Gerald Fredman. He was eleven months old when the family immigrated to Israel and settled in Haifa where his brother Yaron and sister Tamar were born.

Jewish background from which he grew into an outstanding figure amongst his companions and a man of strong principles, marked powers of concentration and a willingness to help his fellows.
