This area is enriched with national parks, wildlife sanctuaries, and diversity of ethnic minority groups. Some of these places are promoted to be tourist attractions. However, sustainable tourism is still in its infancy. The project entitled “Geographical Techniques for the Study of Cultural Diversity and Tourism Development” was launched in 2010. The study area covered the connecting area of two rural districts - Dan Chang district, Suphan Buri province and Ban Rai district, Uthai Thani province. This paper presents the first stage of this project aiming to explore and identify the potential of tourist attractions in the study area. Methodology involved field survey, classification and assessment of potential of tourist attractions, development of GIS tourism databases, and implementation of SWOT analysis. Results showed that tourist attractions are based almost entirely on their cultural and natural heritages. Based on the SWOT analysis, their strengths are in term of the cultural uniqueness and the richness of forestry and wildlife. Their major weaknesses are the incompleteness of physical transportation and facilities and the uncooperative attitudes between the relevant government agencies. The opportunity is that these areas can be promoted to become new tourist attractions at both domestic and international levels.

Anucha Wittayakorn-Puripunpinyoo School of Agriculture and Cooperative, Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University, Nonthaburi, Thailand E-mail: [email protected] Abstract Since 1962, when the first dairy farming in Thailand has been started, Thai dairy farmers have adopted dairy farms as their career of living. They gathered themselves as a dairy cooperative for business operation. Until now, dairy cooperatives have never known that they performed their own business with technical efficiency or not. In this paper, the researcher attempted to answer this question with the research objective to analyze the technical efficiency of dairy cooperatives in the Nakhon Ratchasima province area. This research focused on quantitative analysis. Times-series and cross-sectional data were collected from the cooperative auditing department database from 10 dairy cooperatives from 2008 to 2020. 130 observations were selected, and data analysis was applied to the panel data econometrics model to analyze the dairy cooperatives’ technical efficiency. The findings found that the overall average of 10 dairy cooperatives in the Nakhon Ratchasima province area obtained a very high performance of technical efficiency score of 0.98 whereas 2 out of 10 dairy cooperatives performed their own business with their outstanding technical efficiency score of 1.000 and 1.000, respectively. There is a tendency to increase the number of dairy farmers in Nakhon Ratchasima province, which indicates that the production of raw milk by dairy cooperatives tends to increase in response to the increased demand for milk and dairy products of domestic consumption.

Seismic monitoring in Thailand The Seismological Bureau is responsible for issuing information on earthquake and tsunami. In order to mitigate earthquake and tsunami disasters, the organization monitors seismic activities in and around Thailand for 24 hours per day and issuing timely warning and information about them. After a major earthquake of magnitude 9.3 hit the west coast of northern Sumatra, Indonesia (December, 26 2004), the Thai government immediately settled 40 seismic stations, 26 accelerometer stations, 2 borehole stations (1 broadband borehole and a borehole accelerometer were settled at Bangkok), 9 tide gauge stations and 4 GPS stations to monitor earthquake and tsunami on behalf of the Seismological Bureau (Figure 1). In addition, the document storage was without sorting accounting list by transaction category. The accounting process was not operated systematically as Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Jaroenwanit / GMSARN International Journal 6 (2012) 121 - 134 Barriers to Border Trade along the Southern Economic Corridor: A Case of Thai-Cambodia Trade on the Border of Sraka ew Province Saran Ratanasithi and Pensri Jaroenwanit Abstract — This research aims to study barriers hindering trade on the Southern Economic Corridor, specifically border trading activities between Thailand and Cambodia occurring on the border of Srakaew Province. This area was chosen since it has been widely accepted as a major threshold to Cambodia. Appling both qualitative and quantitative research techniques to collect and analyze its data, this research started with compiling qualitative data from various relevant sources prior to operationalizing them via questionnaire survey to clarify and strengthen the former findings. Results show that barriers affecting trade between Thai and Cambodia can be classified into three major groups based on sources of them, i.e. barriers induced by factors internal to Cambodia and related to overseas economic conditions, those influenced by factors internal to the border traders themselves, and barriers caused by factors internal to Thailand. This research concludes that root cause of border trading barriers is failure of both Thai and Cambodia public authorities to facilitate trade flows between the two countries. This situation is unfortunately aggravated by the delicate national relationship together with border traders’ preoccupation with factors related to short term financial performance and ignorance of factors related to their long term sustained competitiveness. Historical documents and archaeological evidence were used. The result indicated that: When Buddhism was spread into the Suvarnabhumi region during the 3rd century AD, there was a devotee and dedication to create art related to Buddhism. Thus, this art is called Buddhist art. Among all the important civilizations in this world, the Khmer civilization, which is one of the important civilizations in Southeast Asia. The forms of Khmer architecture or Lopburi architecture can be divided into 3 types: (1) Devalai or temple (2) Dhammasala, accommodation for travelers, or houses with lights (3) Arogayasala (Chapel of the hospital). Surin province is located in the northeast of Thailand. There are a large number of Khmer castles. In this province, the castles of Brahmanism and Buddhism had been settled.
