Juli 2008, 12:01 Schade das er net dabei ist. Kommt er etz wieder gleich nach Nürnberg? Beitrag von „OPM“ vom 8. Juli 2008, 00:40 Zitat Games snub stings striker Dario Vidosic Marco Monteverde July 08, 2008 12:00am FORMER Queensland Roar striker Dario Vidosic will consider committing his future to Croatia after being snubbed by Olyroos coach Graham Arnold. Vidosic was among several young strike weapons, including Nathan Burns, Bruce Djite and David Williams, overlooked for Olympic selection last week. Arnold, who chose 30-year-old striker Archie Thompson, has explained the controversial omissions of Burns and Djite, expressing concerns about their age and ability to play in the Beijing heat. But Vidosic, who on Sunday returns to Germany for pre-season training with Nurnberg, said he was still waiting for a proper explanation for his non-selection. https://www.glubbforum.de/forum/thread/792-dario-vidosic-21/ 7 He says part of the reason could be Arnold being under the false impression that he was more concerned with establishing himself in the Nurnberg first team rather than representing Australia. "When you've gone through the whole two years (with the Olyroos), it's a bit of a shame not making it and not knowing why," Vidosic said. "I think in the two years I've been around I've proven that I wanted to be there." Vidosic, who moved to Australia from Croatia when he was one, said if he, too, had been rubber-stamped as a player who could not perform in the heat, perhaps he would be better off representing his country of birth. "Unfortunately, Australia plays all their games in the heat through the Asian qualifiers, so there's not much more I can do," he said. "If I start doing well in Germany, then Croatia will come as well because I'm not locked in, having not represented Australia at Socceroo level. "First and foremost I'd like to play for Australia, but I would not rule out playing for Croatia, because with the Australian team, everything's up in the air now." Vidosic said he was desperate to prove Arnold wrong. "This is only a small bump in the road. I've got to do it for myself now and all the rest will figure itself out later," he said. Football Federation Australia chief executive Ben Buckley yesterday leapt to Arnold's defence, saying claims he picked the Olympic team on his own without consulting https://www.glubbforum.de/forum/thread/792-dario-vidosic-21/ 8 Socceroos coach Pim Verbeek were wrong. "Graham consulted with both Pim Verbeek and (national technical director) Rob Baan in making his selections, and also discussed the implications with the head of the national teams department, John Boultbee," Buckley said. • Review of 2010/11 – Part 2 – Losing Their Way
Review of 2010/11 – Part 2 – Losing their way Leeds United’s return to the Championship had seen them exceed expectations, despite heavy defeats at home to Preston and Cardiff and an embarrassing 5-2 reverse at Barnsley. The sheen of beating table-topping QPR on 18 December had been dulled by losing two-goal leads against Leicester and Portsmouth, but as 2011 opened, Leeds were fourth in the table, level on 40 points with Cardiff and Swansea, with Rangers seven points clear of that pack. It was heady stuff after three years in the League One wilderness and supporters were hopeful of a real promotion push in the New Year. Andy O'Brien, pictured celebrating his goal against Hull City on 9 November, made his move to Elland Road permanent on New The positive mood was enhanced by the Year's Day announcement that Irish international centre-back Andy O’Brien, on loan from Bolton since 29 October, would make the move permanent. O’Brien, who represented himself in contract talks, commented: “The meeting with the chairman was something I will remember all my life. It was a bit like when I signed my first contract at Bradford with Geoffrey Richmond – that was entertaining as well. My Dad came in with me initially and he is a big bloke of around 20 stone. The chairman’s first words were, ‘We’ll sign the fat one instead.’ My Dad replied he had been on a diet for six weeks, to which the chairman said, ‘Well that isn't effing working, is it?’ Dad is quite quick-witted and said back, ‘Well I don’t know what your excuse is’.

Sydney Monday 10 October 2011 The message from Qantas Socceroos is that that they are ready to face Oman tomorrow in their 2014 FIFA World Cup Asian Qualifier at ANZ Stadium tomorrow (Tuesday 11 October 2011, Kick-Off 7.30pm AEDT). Speaking at the official pre-match media conference today, Osieck is expecting a tough encounter but will be preparing his team for victory. “We can forget about whatever happened in the past, tomorrow is they game and we have to fully focus on that. That is what we are going to do. “The qualification has not come to an end. All teams in our group still have the chance to go through. “So that makes every game difficult because all teams will go for the three points. “They try to get the utmost out of it and that is what I am expecting tomorrow as well. “A victory is a victory, there is never an excuse for a victory and we go for that tomorrow,” concluded Osieck Qantas Socceroos captain Lucas Neill is also expecting a tough game against Oman tomorrow, but believes that his team is up for the challenge. “We know they’re very difficult, we know they can cause problems because of the pace that they have. With their speed they can break on the counter. “We have to be playing to our potential, or as close to our potential as possible on the night, otherwise we could find ourselves in an embarrassing situation. “Are we ready? Of course we’re ready this is the reason we have come back to play this game.
