    MINISTERS, LAW OFFICERS AND Scottish MINISTERIAL PARLIAMENTARY AIDES BY Parliament CABINET: SESSION 1 Fact sheet This Fact sheet provides a list of all of the Scottish Ministers, Law Officers and Ministerial Parliamentary Aides during Session 1, from 12 May 1999 until the appointment of new Ministers in the second MSPs: Historical parliamentary session. Series Ministers and Law Officers continue to serve in post during 30 March 2007 dissolution. The first Session 2 cabinet was appointed on 21st May 2003. A Minister is a member of the government. The Scottish Executive is the government in Scotland for devolved matters and is responsible for formulating and implementing policy in these areas. The Scottish Executive is formed from the party or parties holding a majority of seats in the Parliament. During Session 1 the Scottish Executive consisted of a coalition of Labour and Liberal Democrat MSPs. The senior Ministers in the Scottish government are known as ‘members of the Scottish Executive’ or ‘the Scottish Ministers’ and together they form the Scottish ‘Cabinet’. They are assisted by junior Scottish Ministers. With the exception of the Scottish Law Officers, all Ministers must be MSPs. This fact sheet also provides a list of the Law Officers. The Scottish Law Officers listed advise the Scottish Executive on legal matters and represent its interests in court. The final section lists Ministerial Parliamentary Aides (MPAs). MPAs are MSPs appointed by the First Minister on the recommendation of Ministers whom they assist in discharging their duties. MPAs are unpaid and are not part of the Executive. Their role and the arrangements for their appointment are set out in paragraphs 4.6-4.13 of the Scottish Ministerial Code.

(S4W-19695) Margaret Burgess: Official statistics in respect of the Affordable Housing Supply Programme are published by quarter and financial year. A total of 2,999 homes have been completed by local authorities since 1 April 2011 to the end of December 2013. A further 1,239 local authority homes had started on site but had not yet completed by 31 December 2013. At least 5,000 homes are expected to be completed by the end of the current parliamentary session. Mary Fee (West Scotland) (Scottish Labour): To ask the Scottish Government how many towns submitted bids for the Town Centre Housing Fund; how much each submitted, and how many homes will be affected. (S4W-19696) Margaret Burgess: There were 25 proposals submitted to the Town Centre Housing Fund, received from 11 local authorities, five housing associations and eight private developers. The proposals encompassed empty properties in 21 towns across Scotland. Mary Fee (West Scotland) (Scottish Labour): To ask the Scottish Government how many homes have been redeveloped as a result of the Town Centre Housing Fund. The Branch President welcomed the Members and noted that the quorum for the AGM of one twelfth of the Membership of the CPA Scotland Branch (the Branch) had been met. 4. The Branch President informed Members that Patricia Ferguson MSP was elected as the Vice-Chair of the Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians (CWP) Steering Committee in August 2013 and has already establishment the CWP British Islands and Mediterranean Region (BIMR) steering committee and a structure to enable regular regional CWP Conferences to take place. The Branch President noted that in March 2014 the Scottish Parliament was the first Branch to host the CWP BIMR Conference, which had received excellent feedback. Agenda Item 1: Apologies 5.
