Teaching The Acting Matrix Conservatory – Los Angeles, CA As Head of Voice and Speech I have created a curriculum for our student actors Beginning Voice  This course is the student’s first introduction to Fitzmaurice Voicework Speech and IPA  This course introduces students to a Non-Regional American Dialect, articulator activation, and teaches them to use the International Phonetic Alphabet as a tool for speech and dialect acquisition Intermediate Voice  This course continues to build on the basics of Fitzmaurice Voicework learned in Beginning Voice, though in this course the basics of Restructuring are introduced Dialects  The student will now use IPA and the knowledge gained in Speech and IPA to gain familiarity with various Dialects of spoken English and teaching them the tools needed to be able to learn and use ANY dialect effectively Advanced Voice  This course enables the student to put all the pieces together – from Destructuring, to Restructuring, to Speech and Dialects, and finally adding the elements of pitch and passagio work, placement, and volume Shakespeare and Text  Utilizing both movement and voice exercises the student gains a working knowledge and ability with Shakespeare including issues of scansion, rhythm, speech, and text analysis.
