Menu selecons are subject to change based on food availability. Meals are parally funded through the Area Agency on Aging for Lincolnland. The suggested donaon for persons age 60 and over is $3.00 per meal. The full cost to persons under 60 years of age is $5.75 per meal. Any and all contribuons are always appreciated. The me period for Medicare beneficiaries to change and compare their Medicare Part D plans and Medicare Advantage Plans is during the annual Open Enrollment Period, scheduled October 15 through December 7, with the new coverage starng on January 1, 2021.

During the Fall Open Enrollment you can change how you receive your health care coverage and add or change drug coverage. The last change that is made is the one that will take effect on January 1, 2021.

For example you can:  Change from Original Medicare to a Medicare Advantage plan.  Change from a Medicare Advantage plan back to Original Medicare.  Switch from one Medicare Advantage Plan to another Medicare Advantage plan.  Switch from a Medicare Advantage plan that doesn’t offer drug coverage to a Medicare Advantage plan that does offer Drug coverage.  Add/Change/Drop a Medicare Prescripon drug plan.

You may access the Medicare plans on the Medicare website (medicare.gov) or if you would like a SHIP Counse- lor to assist you with plan comparison or enrolling in a new plan, contact our Informaon and Assistance Special- ist, Deborah Murphy, @ 528-4035 ex 131 for an appointment. You must bring a list of your prescripon medica- ons (drug name, dosage/mg strength, and number of mes a day you take the medicaon) and your Medicare card with you to the appointment.

Senior Services of Central Illinois’ mission is to support and serve seniors with non-medical services to promote and enrich quality of life. One way we do that is the Care Coordinaon Unit, we assess needs of the elderly, connecng them with the eligible services of their choice. Community services allow seniors to remain in their homes instead of moving to a nursing home. CCUs provide one- stop guidance to an o en-confusing array of programs, saving the elderly and their families much me and frustraon in navigang their way to the best resoluon for their parcular needs. CCUs provide an unbiased assessment of each person’s needs, provide choice of services and then arrange services from state approved providers. In these mes of COVID – 19 affecng the economic fallout and healthcare challenges, the CCUs role as coordinator of services becomes even more important than in the past. The Care Coordinaon Unit at Senior Services houses many programs all following the same the mission to keep older adults safe and independent in their own homes. The CCU serves Logan, Mason, Menard and Sangamon Counes. Our programs include: Comprehensive Care Coordinaon, Choices for Care, Informaon and Assistance, Senior Health Assistance Program, Illinois Volunteer Money Management Program and Adult Protecve Services. Every November, the Rered and Senior Volunteer Program hosts a food drive to provide holiday food baskets to seniors in need. These seniors receive services through one or more of the various social services departments at Senior Services of Central Illinois. Donaons can be can be delivered to Vanessa Lasalle, RSVP Volunteer Coordinator, no later than 1:00 PM on Tuesday, November 100th. If you would be available to help deliver Thanksgiving Food Baskets the week of November 16th, please contact Vanessa at (217) 528-4035, ext. 151.

Another annual event the Rered and Senior Volunteer Program parcipates in is Santa for Soldiers. We will be collecng standard size Christmas Stockings, as well as travel size toiletries, and travel size non-perishables such as fruit snacks, trail mix, cocoa, cereal, and coffee. We will also collect items such as lip protecon, stress balls, deck of cards, etc. Donaons can be delivered to Vanessa LaSalle, RSVP Coordinator during the enre month of November. If you have any quesons, or would like addional informaon, please contact Vanessa at (217) 528-4035, ext. 151. Volunteers will be needed to help prepare donated items for shipment and delivery to our soldiers overseas. Dates are to be determined, but feel free to contact Vanessa if you are interested in helping!

RSVP is in need of Volunteers who would be willing and able to be included in an “on-call” list to deliver Daily Bread Meals to Seniors in need.
