Formula Renault Race 1 FORMULA RENAULT EUROCUP RACE 1 HIGHLIGHTS – RED BULL RING REFERENCE ROUND #8 – CIRCUIT PAUL RICARD – LE CASTELLET DATE 26 August 2017 SUBJECT 2017 Season - Weekend #8 - Race One – Highlights 00:00 INTRO CLIP – Voice over After a short summer break, the Formula Renault Eurocup arrives in the south of France at the Circuit Paul Ricard at Le Castellet. It’s a colourful sight in the pit lane as the cars line up on the grid for race 16 of the 2017 season. The Renault Sport Academy, Red Bull Jr, SMP and Telmex drivers are all working on honing their skills with a view to future positions in Formula One. 00:33 Race start #11 Sacha FENESTRAZ (Josef Kaufmann Racing) starts from pole position and hangs on to the lead going through the first corners ahead of #10 Robert SCHWARTZMAN (R.ace GP) and #9 Max DEFOURNY (R.ace GP), with the entire pack going through the first corners with no problems. And DEFOURNY goes on the attack right from the first moments… while a little further back in the pack, there’s plenty of action as the wild card #40 Charles MILESI (R.ace GP) gets sandwiched and loses several places, having started 4th on the grid. 01:04 Voice over The Belgian driver goes on the attack on SCHWARTZMAN in an attempt to take second. A tooth and nail battle ensue with both drivers changing places several times. 01:14 Voice over #13 Henrique CHAVES (AVF by Adrien Valles) and #93 Zane GODDARD (Arden Motorsport) come into contact, and CHAVES pays the price. 01:20 Voice over The battle between SCHWARTZMAN and DEFOURNY animates a good part of the race with SCHWARTZMAN taking back second. 01:28 Voice over Another accident involves #33 Daniel TICKTUM (Arden Motorsport) and #4 Gabriel AUBRY (Tech 1 Racing). then it’s the turn of #20 Najiy RAZAK and #25 Julia PANKIEWICZ (Mark Burdett Motorsport), an incident that brings out the safety car just minutes before the finish. 01:45 Voice over The safety car comes off with one lap left to run, and the battle is on for the victory… a battle that unfortunately has dire consequences for the leader FENESTRAZ, who luckily escapes relatively unscathed from the incident. 02:00 Voice over The way is clear for SCHWARTZMAN to take the chequered flag in the leading position… a position that will be taken away from him by the race direction after the finish, due to his causing the crash with FENESTRAZ. 02:07 GFX Le Castellet Race 1 Final Result 02:27 ITW winner #9 Max DEFOURNY (R.ace GP) In English “Yeah for sure, there was a lot of attacking. First I managed to get past him in the first couple of corners. After that I had a few attacks on Sacha, but then attacking Sacha I got some dirt on the tyres which then made me make a mistake and so Robert was able to get by and at that point I kept a bit of margin to attack at the end when they would fight, and I had another attack on Robert which was quite close to getting by, so it was quite nice.” 02:53 JINGLE 02:58 ENDS .

PR Document 2020 Japanese Super Formula Championship Series Media Information August 27 2020 1 Super Formula : Then and Now In the 1950s, the Fédération Internationale de I’Automobile (FIA) launched the Drivers’ Championship to find the world’s fastest formula car drivers the purest form of racing machine. That ethos was passed on to all FIA national member organizations.Top-level formula motor racing has been held in Japan in various forms since 1973, when Formula 2000 was first launched. The competition evolved into Formula Two in 1978 and then Formula 3000 in 1987. Japan Race Promotion, Inc. (JRP) was established in 1995 and continued carrying the competition torch in 1996 under the name of Formula Nippon. In 2013, the name of the competition was changed again to Japanese Championship Super Formula and a bold plan was implemented to upgrade the race cars and lift the profile of the competition with the clear aim of spreading the appeal of Super Formula from Japan to other parts of Asia. Another hope was to turn the series into a third great open-wheel racing competition to go along with Formula One and IndyCar. The competition’s name was changed again in 2016 to Japanese Super Formula Championship. In 2017, BS Fuji began broadcasting live Super Formula races, giving many motorsport fans the chance to watch championship races on free-to-air television. In the early days, formula racing in Japan was led by top drivers such as Kunimitsu Takahashi, Kazuyoshi Hoshino and Satoru Nakajima, who later competed on the global stage in Formula One.
