The game is unpredictable and practice is predictable and that’s a problem.”--Nate Trosky

Our Focus: Be “on time” with the pitch Clean, crisp feet Ability to push thru/funnel with hands Capable to throw from multiple slots - create feel Goals thru Drills: Develop game-like actions Speed our guys up Create competition Always have purpose, juice Infield Drills:

Catch Play: Going Back = Get Loose. Coming in = Intent Changes to Play. Dry 2-Step/4-Step: Activates our feet, reinforces game-like actions, reduces learning curve. • Coaching: Right to left and left to target, get our right foot in the turf Rolled Series: Warmup for hands/eyes, touches 3 lanes, practice a push/funnel, transfer to Power V • Coaching: Chin to chest - eyes buried in, soft click when receiving, clean transfer Pre-Pitch Hop: Minimize false steps, eliminates ‘slack’ in muscle, and leads to a better first step. • Coaching: Top of jump @ contact, body posture, staying in motion, ‘Hop, Land, and Go’ w/ shoulder turn. Wall Ball: Work on pre-pitch hop, first step quickness, full shoulder turn to increase real estate. • Coaching: Staying low through first step, full shoulder turn, eyes involved on catch. Agility Ladder: Activates our feet, creates rhythm, promotes hip mobility, awareness of our feet • Coaching: Not as concerned with going fast - want body awareness and hip mobility. Triangle Drill: Creating variability amongst infielders (shifts), double play feeds as SS/2B, gets us more comfortable being uncomfortable, play w/ increased heart rate. • Coaching: Fundamentals in flips/turns, footwork, and energy. Rapid Fire Exchanges: Comfort throwing from low slot, forces adjustability, ability to play w/ pace, and quick turns. • Coaching: Stay down in our legs/throw from low slot, play quick, and quick transfers. Racquetball: Activate/awareness of our feet, first step quickness, read hops, soft hands, and keep eyes involved. • Implementation: Choose hop, 2nd long/short, 1st/2nd/3rd on call, forehand/backhand, hand eye. Tags @ Base: Don’t be late, start in front, let it travel, and throw that tag down!

Structure with Practice: -Catch Play, Transition Drill(s), Live Work -Can use stations; can divide MIF and CIF groups but do not have to all the time—create athletes and “feel” -Want to finish with live GBs, whether inside or out when possible
