    One of the important duties of the executive staff of Haryana Forest Department is protection of Reserved Forests, Protected Forests, Unclassed Forests, Wild Life sanctuaries, National Parks and areas notified under Section 4 & Section 5 of Punjab Land Preservation Act, 1900. The offenders, encroachers, graziers and illicit fellers etc. are issued damage reports and asked to pay compensation + the price of the forest produce. Failure to pay compensation plus the price of the forest produce entails prosecution of the offenders in the Environment Courts at Hisar and Faridabad. There are nine Wild life Sanctuaries and two National parks namely Kalesar National Park and Sultanpur National Park. Hunting is totally prohibited in the state. In all the Wildlife sanctuaries/National Parks in the State of Haryana and elsewhere in the entire country, no felling of trees is permissible, even of dead and dry trees. Thus no human activities/interference is permitted in any Wildlife Sanctuary/National Park. Keeping in view these concerns it is important that conservation of water resources and access of water to the people is ensured. Also there is no mention of tackling the problem of water -logging in the State of Haryana either in the act or under any rules made by the government Since the forests and the tree cover helps in recharge of ground water, this aspect needs to be given a fair trial in the perspective planning. As far as the surface water is concerned the supplies of utilizable surface water are at about 35% of the total available run-off. So it is necessary to augment the available resources to the maximum possible extent.

    International Journal of Research Studies in Biosciences (IJRSB) Volume 2, Issue 6, July 2014, PP 11-16 ISSN 2349-0357 (Print) & ISSN 2349-0365 (Online) www.arcjournals.org A Study of Food and Feeding Habits of Blue Peafowl, Pavo Cristatus Linnaeus, 1758 in District Kurukshetra, Haryana (India) Girish Chopra, Tarsem Kumar Department of Zoology, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra-136119 (INDIA) [email protected] Summary: Present study was conducted to determine the food and feeding habits of blue peafowl in three study sites, namely, Saraswati plantation wildlife sanctuary (SPWS), Bir Sonti Reserve Forest (BSRF), and Jhrouli Kalan village (JKAL). Point count method (Blondel et al., 1981) was followed during periodic fortnightly visits to all the three selected study sites. The peafowls were observed to feed on flowers, fruits, leaves of 11, 8 and 8 plant species respectively. These were sighted to feed on Brassica compestris (flowers, leaves), Trifolium alexandarium (flowers, leaves), Triticum aestivum (flowers, leaves, fruits), Oryza sativa (flowers, leaves, fruits), Chenopodium album (flowers, leaves, fruits), Parthenium histerophoresus (flowers, leaves), Pisum sativum (flowers, leaves, fruits), Cicer arientum (flowers, leaves, fruits), Pyrus pyrifolia (flowers, fruits), Ficus benghalensis (flowers, fruits), Ficus rumphii (flowers, fruits). They were also observed feeding on insects in all three study sites and on remains of the snake bodies at the BSRF and JKAL study site. The findings revealed that the Indian peafowl, on one hand, functions as a predator of agricultural pests but, on the other hand, is itself a pest on agricultural crops. (b) Besides, cabinet has also approved conversion of National Crèche Scheme from Central Sector to Centrally Sponsored Scheme. This scheme aims to provide a safe place for mothers to leave their children while they are at work. (c) These sub-schemes will be continued till November 30, 2018 with financial outlay of over Rs.41000 crore. (d) Above mentioned sub-schemes are continuing from the 12th Five Year Plan. However, Government has rationalised these sub-schemes in financial year 2016-17 and have been brought under Umbrella ICDS as its sub-schemes. (e) It is expected that around 11 crore children, pregnant women & Lactating Mothers and the Adolescent Girls will gain benefits through these schemes. INTRODUCTION Dr. (Smt.) Mridula Sinha, the Hon. Governor of Goa, vide Order dated the 15th March, 2017, summoned the First Session of the Seventh Legislative Assembly of the State of Goa, which commenced on the 16th March, 2017, at 11 30 AM at the Assembly Hall, Porvorim, Goa. The National Anthem was played at the commencement of the Session. The First Session, 2017 of the Seventh Legislative Assembly of the State of Goa had 4 sittings and had a duration of 6 hours and 8 minutes and has transacted an effective and a significant business. 2. DURATION OF THE SITTINGS OF THE HOUSE The total duration of the sittings of the House was 6 hours and 8 minutes.

Here, we seek to talk about the political hegemony working from behind the colossal fashion world economy and how the pageants are being manipulated by the larger capitalist countries through their market capturing tactics. But what we intend most is to show that the pageant contestants sometimes act as passive resistants, countering the hegemonic discourse to dismantle the norms set by the Fashion Politics, starting from Manushi Chhillar's vote for remunerative motherhood to Reita Faria's choice of forming her own identities in their attempt to refuse the laid out set of ideologies. Beauty pageants treat gender as one more category along with other categories of 'caste', or 'nation' as reflected in the seemingly 'worthy' title ascription such as "Miss India" or in the very entrance forms they fill in ticking on the given boxes of gender, nationality ,religion or maritalstatus.
