28/07/2020 (new wording) Intro Weekly COVID-19 Surveillance Report in Nottinghamshire Cumulative data from 21/02/2020 - 26/07/2020 Overview This report summarises the information from the surveillance system which is used to monitor the cases of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic in Nottinghamshire (excluding Nottingham city). The report is based on daily data up to 26 July 2020. COVID-19 cases are identified by taking specimens from people and sending these specimens to laboratories to be tested. If the test is positive, this is referred to as a lab-confirmed case. Data includes lab-confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 from pillar 1 (NHS hospital and Public Health England laboratories) and pillar 2 (commercial partner laboratories) of the Government's testing programme. There are many factors that can contribute to the number of cases in an area. As part of local outbreak control arrangements, a team meets daily to review information about new cases to identify where further investigation or action is required. Technical details The maps presented in the report examine counts and rates of COVID-19 at Middle Super Output Area level. Middle Layer Super Output Areas are a census based geography used in the reporting of small area statistics in England and Wales. The minimum population is 5,411 and the average is 8,363. As such they are larger than electoral wards but smaller than Districts. Disclosure control rules have been applied to all figures not currently in the public domain. All counts of 1 or 2 have been suppressed. Data has been sourced from Public Health England. The report has been compiled by Performance, Intelligence and Policy Team at Nottinghamshire County Council. 1/1 28/07/2020 Covid counts Weekly COVID-19 Surveillance Report in Nottinghamshire Cumulative data from 21/02/2020 -26/07/2020 Cases per week Moving average of cases per day PILLAR 1 PILLAR 2 PILLAR 1 PILLAR 2 Pillar 1 + 2 Pillar 1 Pillar 2 400 combined data data from swab data from swab 30 from both Pillar 1 testing in PHE labs testing for the 300 and Pillar 2 of the and NHS hospitals wider population, 133 20 189 181 UK Government’s for those with a as set out in 200 COVID-19 testing clinical need, and government 154 20 160 Count ofCases 236 122 programme health and care guidance 100 220 202 140 170 123 124 143 85 workers 76 Cases perday 64 88 28 53 55 29 32 44 22 25 23 0 20 10 COVID-19 cases | Cumulative data from 6 July 6 April13 April20 April27 April4 May11 May18 May25 May1 June8 June15 June22 June29 June 13 July20 July 2 March9 March16 March23 March30 March 21/02/2020 - 26/07/2020 (total) 17 February 0 May 2020 Jun 2020 Jul 2020 Week Commencing Day of Specimen date 3050 1518 1532 Population pyramid - Pillar 1 Population pyramid - Pillar 2 CASES PILLAR 1 PILLAR 2 Female Male Female Male CASES CASES 0-19 8 9 0-19 38 31 20-29 51 11 20-29 165 78 30-39 49 30 30-39 135 109 COVID-19 cases | Cumulative data from 40-49 82 39 40-49 185 74 20/07/2020 - 26/07/2020 (latest week) 50-59 86 69 50-59 193 116 60-69 60 86 60-69 78 49 38 3 35 70-79 126 154 70-79 41 34 CASES PILLAR 1 PILLAR 2 80+ 352 306 80+ 147 58 CASES CASES 76 Years median age* 48 Years median age* * median age is the middle when all ages are lined up smallest to largest - half of the cases are younger than this age and half are older 1/1 28/07/2020 Districts Weekly COVID-19 Surveillance Report in Nottinghamshire Cumulative data from 21/02/2020 -26/07/2020 Cumulative cases per District Pillar 1 + 2 Pillar 1 Pillar 2 District Ashfield Bassetlaw Broxtowe Gedling Mansfield Newark & Sherwood Rushcliffe combined data from data from swab testing in data from swab testing 600 both Pillar 1 and Pillar 2 PHE labs and NHS hospitals for the wider population, of the UK Government’s for those with a clinical need, as set out in government COVID-19 testing and health and care workers guidance programme 400 Pillar 1 + 2 Pillar 1 Pillar 2 Cases Cases Cases Ashfield 570 247 323 200 Cumulative COVID-19cases Bassetlaw 593 0 275 318 Mar 2020 Apr 2020 May 2020 Jun 2020 Jul 2020 Specimen Date Broxtowe 433 243 190 RateRate of ofcumulative cumulative cases cases per per 100,000 100,000 population population by by district district 800800 Gedling 377 227 150 vs. Eng Sig. higher | Similar | Sig. lower 600600 Mansfield 357 144 213 England Average 400400 Newark & 323 176 147 Sherwood 200200 Rushcliffe 397 206 191 0 0 Ashfield Bassetlaw Broxtowe GedlingGedling MansfieldMansfield NewarkNewark && RushcliffeRushcliffe SherwoodSherwood 1/1 28/07/2020 MSOAs all dates Weekly COVID-19 Surveillance Report in Nottinghamshire Cumulative data from 21/02/2020 - 26/07/2020 | COVID-19 by MSOA | PILLARS 1 + 2 3050 CASES 1518 PILLAR 1 CASES 1532 PILLAR 2 CASES Confirmed COVID-19 cases by MSOA Confirmed COVID-19 rates per 100,000 population by MSOA Sutton Forest Side & New … 72 Retford North Newgate & Carr Bank 68 Worksop Town & South Retford North 68 Worksop Cheapside Worksop Kilton 63 Newgate & Carr Bank Worksop Cheapside 62 Selston Worksop Town & South 61 Worksop West, Shireoaks & R… Harworth, Bircotes & Blyth 57 Bestwood Village East Kirkby 55 East Kirkby Beeston Town 51 SuttonSutton Forest Forest Side Side & & New New Cross Cr… Edwinstowe & Clipstone 51 Attenborough & Chilwell East Attenborough & Chilwell Ea… 50 Cotgrave Selston 50 Worksop Kilton Worksop West, Shireoaks &… 50 Beeston Town Cotgrave 49 Ruddington Hucknall North & East 49 Harworth, Bircotes & Blyth Kimberley South, Trowell & … 45 Eastwood Hall & Brinsley Bestwood Village 43 Carlton & Langold Bingham 43 Hucknall Westville Ruddington 43 Sutton Central & Leamington Carlton & Langold 42 Hucknall North & East 0 50 0K 1K Top 20 MSOAs by number of COVID-19 cases Top 20 MSOAs by rate of COVID-19 cases per 100,000 population 1/1.
