Area Summary Eyke is a village and that sits on the A1152 between Woodbridge (to the South-West) and in Coastal. The village itself is almost exclusively set along the main road or the adjoining streets. Eyke has a number of community assets. The village retains a primary school as well as a village hall, a parish church and recreational ground. The local pub remains open, as does a village store. The majority of the remaining parish is taken up by Rendlesham Forest to the south-east. The south-west corner of the parish borders the ‘Rock Barracks’, managed by the Ministry of Defence. Eyke hit the news in recent years as the home of Will Pooley, the Suffolk nurse who contracted Ebola while helping to fight the disease in Sierra Leone. Total 369 Population
