An extraordinary survival. In 1930 and 1931 an intrepid young baseball fan collected the signatures of 61 home and visiting ballplayers. In time, 35 of those players would be enshrined in Major League Baseball's Hall of Fame. The signatures are all on white, 2 x 3 1/2-inch cards, mounted only with photo corner-type mounts in an album charmingly annotated with various cut-out figures of the players, their stats, nicknames, etc. The album is in no particular order but page fittingly begins with a card signed by both Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. Minor conservation to verso of some album pages, not affecting signatures or cards. Some signatures may be "clubhouse" or secretarial, including but not limited to, Jimmie Foxx, Chuck Klein, John McGraw, and Hack Wilson.
