Redshirt sophomore defensive back Monty Fenner was the inaugural winner of the Wardell Turner Memorial Scholarship.

The scholarship honors Sergeant Major Wardell B. Turner who was Killed in Action on Novem- ber 24, 2014 in Kabul, Afghanistan. Sergeant Major Turner was serving in a NATO role advising Afghan security forces when his vehicle struck an Improvised Explosive Device.

Monty Fenner, Rob Ambrose, Katherine Turner, Xavier Turner The scholarship will be awarded annually to a defensive back on the football team that is in good academic standing and demonstrates the qualities and attributes exemplified by Wardell Turner; leadership, selfless service and commitment.
