His use of structuring elements—purposeful orienting, definitions of key terms, clear topic sentences, consistent tie back sentences—sets his argument up for success. Motivating his thesis from the beginning to the end, Christian is able to not only sustain his topic, but make an insightful contribution to our understanding of the Alt-right. Identitarian movement The identitarian movement (otherwise known as Identitarianism) is a European and North American[2][3][4][5] white nationalist[5][6][7] movement originating in France. Implicit in this question is the assumption that white supremacists raise a substantial amount of money, an assumption fueled by rumors and speculation about white supremacist groups being funded by sources such as the Russian government, conservative foundations, or secretive wealthy backers. The reality is less sensational but still important. As American political and social movements go, the white supremacist movement is particularly poorly funded. Small in numbers and containing many adherents of little means, the white supremacist movement has a weak base for raising money compared to many other causes. Moreover, recent developments, particularly in crowdfunding, may have provided the white supremacist movement with more fundraising opportunities than it has seen in some time. I found some criteria for early- warning signs of antisemitic, bigoted and genocidal activities. I included a summary of neo-Nazi and white supremacy groups in modern American and then moved to a more specific focus on contemporary and prominent groups like Atomwaffen Division, the Proud Boys, the Vinlanders Social Club, the Base, Rise Against Movement, the Hammerskins, and other prominent antisemitic and hate-driven groups. Trends of hate-speech, acts of vandalism and acts of violence within the past fifty years were examined. Also, how law enforcement and the legal system has responded to these activities has been included as well. The different methods these groups use for indoctrination of younger generations has been an important aspect of my research: the consistent use of hate-rock and how hate-groups have co-opted punk and hardcore music to further their ideology. Live-music concerts and festivals surrounding these types of bands and how hate-groups have used music as a means to fund their more violent activities have been crucial components of my research as well. The use of other forms of music and the reactions of non-hate-based artists are also included. The use of the internet, social media and other digital means has also be a primary point of discussion. -

Whiteness, when it is used to describe skin color, emerges in the language from the Dark Ages and from a multiplicity of ethnicities. A “white race” emerges into a proto- enlightenment and a proto-capitalism and into the uses of pigment. One way to deconstruct the notion of white supremacy is to parse the signification of the word “white.” In order to interrogate the politics of melanin we must confront what James Baldwin called “the lie that is whiteness.” We need to situate this signifier, this whiteness, in myth, ontology, aesthetics, metaphor, and ideology. In a more mundane physical description, white enters the world as light which is parsed by a prism that fractures white light into a spectrum – the colors of the rainbow. Each color of the spectrum vibrates on a different wavelength from infrared to ultraviolet. White and black have no wavelength. White contains and reflects all the colors; black absorbs all light and color. -

Introduction “Literally, I woke up in a bad mood and decided someone shouldn’t be allowed on the internet. No one should have that power.” After a whirlwind five days of social media protests and internal tension, Matthew Prince, the CEO of Cloudflare, an Internet-services company, decided to terminate its contract with The Daily Stormer. The Internet’s most popular neo-Nazi website had vanished from the Web.1 Cloudflare’s content distribution network (CDN), improving the Stormer’s performance and protecting it from distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks, had allowed the site to stay afloat for months or years. But that changed in 2017 during a period of tense racial relations in the United States. From August 11 to 12, the Daily Stormer helped organize the white supremacist Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia. Soon after, it published articles calling murdered protestor Heather Heyer a “sloppy lard ass” and labeling her death an accidental heart attack.2 Reaction was swift. The next day, activist Amy Suskind tagged web hosting service GoDaddy in a Twitter post: “@GoDaddy you host The Daily Stormer - they posted this on their site. Please retweet if you think this hate should be taken down & banned.”3 Within 24 hours, GoDaddy responded by withdrawing hosting services. When the Stormer tried to switch to Google, it soon followed suit.4 Zoho refused to provide email service,5 and Twitter shut down Mitchell 2 associated accounts.6 With multiple major companies withdrawing services, it became increasingly difficult for the Stormer to host and propagate content. -

Boyle November 19, 2020 RIGHT-WING TERROR THREAT 2 Abstract Terrorism poses grave threats to the stability of democratic societies. Right-wing terrorists (RWT) are disillusioned by equity in American society and yearn for a pre-civil rights era replete with segregation at the least and forcible removal or genocide of minority racial groups, Muslims, and Jews at most. Their demand for this accelerationist, revolutionary sociogenic shift is influenced by racialist propensities of American history: slavery, eugenics, nativism, racial violence, and discrimination are deep national scars. For RWT, societal privileges afforded to whites are not enough. RWT organizations are planning for and accelerating a breakdown of civil order within the United States. This is so that they can establish white separatist ethnostates, exterminate non-whites, and eliminate equal protection under the law. RWT of the 21st century have replaced their forebears’ Klan robes and brownshirts with coiffed hair, suit jackets, and polished leather shoes. They have swapped epithets for dog whistles. They espouse radical political beliefs in calm tones, peppering their lurid diatribes with hints of pseudoscientific intellectualism and feigned thoughtfulness. This illusory exterior, nonetheless, is bursting with anti-Semitic bile, encouragement of terroristic acts, and a refusal to abide by the rule of law. RWT poses the greatest threat to the United States compared to other types of terrorism because the ubiquity, organic appeal, and historicity of RWT buttresses the ability of these organizations to radicalize white Americans into belief systems beholden to America’s racist, violent past. -
