Hughes FIRST GRADE NPLNSW.COM.AU MATCH ith a new coach at the helm, Sutherland WSharks are determined to get their season back on track. Experienced coach Grant Lee went close to snatching a draw against Sydney FC despite being 3-1 down. Lee said post match he was proud of the heart shown by his players and believes this is what can lead them to a strong second half of the season. This week they face another team languishing towards the bottom half of the Table in Parramatta FC. Franco Cosentino’s side have experienced many of the same struggles Sutherland have faced this season and will be as desperate for the three points on offer. Tomohiro Kajiyama will be one of the key pieces for Sutherland with the dynamic midfielder a constant box to box presence. A win for either team will be a huge morale booster going into the second half of the season. 1ST GRADE - PLAYSTATION 4 NPL NSW MEN’S POS TEAM P W D L F A GD PTS 1 Blacktown City FC 9 7 2 0 21 10 11 23 2 Rockdale City Suns FC 9 6 2 1 23 14 9 20 3 APIA Leichhardt Tigers FC 9 6 0 3 22 11 11 18 4 Sydney United 58 FC 9 6 0 3 21 10 11 18 5 Manly United FC 9 5 2 2 24 18 6 17 6 Sydney Olympic FC 9 5 2 2 13 9 4 17 7 Hakoah Sydney City East FC 9 4 2 3 18 14 4 14 8 Wollongong Wolves FC 9 3 1 5 8 14 -6 10 9 Sydney FC 9 2 0 7 12 20 -8 6 10 Parramatta FC 9 1 2 6 10 25 -15 5 11 Bonnyrigg White Eagles FC 9 1 1 7 14 28 -14 4 12 Sutherland Sharks FC 9 1 0 8 12 25 -13 3 5 FIRST GRADE #PS4NPLNSW Sydney FC 3 - Sutherland Sharks FC 2 at Lambert Park A strong attacking display has helped Sydney FC claim its second PlayStation®4 National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s win of the season after they edged Sutherland Sharks 3-2 at Lambert Park. A free-flowing display of attacking football helped the young Sky Blues to victory, with goals to Charles Lokolingoy, Brendan Curtis and Juan Zapata helping the home side to three competition points. Sutherland Sharks didn’t have the same control of the match as their opponents but their ability to punish Sydney FC’s mistakes kept them in the match right until the final moments, thanks to goals from Tomohiro Kajiyama and Nathan Elasi. The result is sure to please Sydney FC coach Robbie Stanton as his side begins to find their groove at senior level. Parramatta FC 0 - Hakoah Sydney City East 3 at Melita Stadium A brace from Oliver Green led Hakoah Sydney City East to a comfortable 3-0 PlayStation®4 National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s victory over ten-man Parramatta in a scrappy round nine affair at Melita Stadium. The Hakoah midfielder struck early on after sweeping home from close range and added a stunning third for his side late on with a sweetly struck effort from outside the box. Minutes earlier Robert Ezequiel had made it 2-0 after racing on to a clever flick from Andre De Jong before steering the ball past Parramatta gloveman Ryan Norval. The Eagles had their luckless showing compounded by the send-off of defender Tomislav Mijic, who saw red after a melee between both sides. It capped a hugely frustrating night for the hosts, who offered a lot of endeavour after going behind early but saw several chances to restore parity go begging. 6 ROUND 9 NPLNSW.COM.AU TEAM OF THE 01: LARGE USE: OVER 150MM WIDE This logo has a smaller ‘®’ symbol 02: FOOTBALL NSW WOULDSMAL LIKEL USE: TO55MM THANK - 150MM WID THEIRE SPONSORS FOR THEIRThis CONTINUED logo has a larger ‘ ®SUPPORT’ symbol 7 FEATURE STORY #PS4NPLNSW 8 PHOTO GALLERY NPLNSW.COM.AU 9 UNDER 20s #PS4NPLNSW 18 Matias DA SILVA SANTOS 23 (C) Gino CERASOLI 22 GK Gerrard ROEBEUCK 24 Samuel DE OLIVEIRA 23 Deren O'BRIEN 25 Saeed MUBAREK 24 Adam MASSOUD 26 Will SALINAS 26 Harry SUTHERLAND 27 Leandro GUZMAN 27 Harrison QUIRK 29 Ryan BLAKELEY 28 Jordan PYNE 30 Jason OH 29 Daniel KRKOVSKI 31 Matthew KEPPIE 30 Lachlan EVERETT 32 Marcus PLATANIOTIS 31 Robert WATSON 34 Daniel ALESSI 32 Julian AIROLDI 35 Gabriel BRESSA 33 Thomas PAPA 36 Abuzar AWAZ 34 Jake BORROMEO 37 Keenan GIBSON 36 Matthew STEWART 38 Marko FILIPOVIC 37 Christian TORRELLI 39 Evan RIMAC 40 Corey FINCH Coach: Nick Dimovski Coach: Paul Casey Assistant Coach: Steve Gordon Manager: Dario Zaina Manager: Craig Simmons UNDER 20s - PLAYSTATION 4 NPL NSW MEN’S POS TEAM P W D L F A GD PTS 1 Sutherland Sharks FC 9 6 2 1 31 10 21 20 2 Blacktown City FC 9 6 1 2 17 10 7 19 3 Sydney United 58 FC 9 5 1 3 14 10 4 16 4 Hakoah Sydney City East FC 9 4 2 3 14 11 3 14 5 Sydney Olympic FC 9 4 2 3 18 18 0 14 6 APIA Leichhardt Tigers FC 9 4 1 4 25 16 9 13 7 Sydney FC 9 3 4 2 12 8 4 13 8 Manly United FC 9 3 2 4 20 20 0 11 9 Wollongong Wolves FC 9 3 1 5 14 20 -6 10 10 Rockdale City Suns FC 9 2 3 4 7 18 -11 9 11 Parramatta FC 9 2 1 6 9 18 -9 7 12 Bonnyrigg White Eagles FC 9 1 2 6 9 31 -22 5 10 UNDER 20s NPLNSW.COM.AU MATCH arramatta are hoping to avoid a fifth Pconsecutive defeat but the odds will be stacked against them when they take on competition leaders Sutherland Sharks at Seymour Shaw. Nick Dimovski’s first-placed outfit may have stuttered slightly in recent weeks with a 2-0 loss at home to Wollongong followed by a 1-1 stalemate with Sydney FC but the talented young Sutherland side still remain the team to beat so far this campaign.
