Xfinity Series practice begins at 1:00pm, with the Food City 500 qualifying starting at 4:45pm. Food City Family Race Night, a free fan event that features driver autograph sessions, live entertainment and giveaways, starts at 4:00pm inside Bristol’s Hospitality Village and continues until 9:00pm. The Speedway Children’s Charities Spring Race 5k will also take place on Friday, April 21 starting at 7:30pm. Saturday, April 22 1pm, 4pm Bristol becomes the proving ground for the Xfinity Series’ Dash 4 Cash race during Saturday’s double-header race day. First, the rising stars of motorsports compete in a three stage race battling for the $100,000 bonus prize during the Fitzgerald Glider Kits 300. The surface of the World’s Fastest Half Mile won’t have time to cool off before the K&N Series superstars take on the high banks of Bristol in the Zombie Auto 125 where they will fight for their own bragging rights. Sunday, April 23 2:00pm The 2017 Food City 500 will mark the 25th anniversary of the Food City sponsorship at Bristol Motor Speedway. Food City has now become the second longest running sponsor in the NASCAR sport. Dash 4 Cash Heat Racing Bristol Motor Speedway will once again host one of the four NASCAR XFINITY Series Dash 4 Cash events during the April 22 Fitzgerald Glider Kits 300. The Dash 4 Cash program easily fits into the new stage format that NASCAR has announced for its major touring series’ for 2017. The NASCAR XFINITY Series regulars will qualify for the Dash 4 Cash bonus during Stages 1 and 2 (each are 85 laps). The top finishers of each round will battle it out in Stage 3 to be declared the Dash 4 Cash winner and earn a $100,000 prize. If any driver wins two of the four Dash 4 Cash bonuses during the regular season, he/she will be guaranteed a spot in this year’s NASCAR XFINITY Series playoff. Bristol now has weekend kid’s tickets for just $10, and season tickets Kid’s Activities for $20. The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series™, the NASCAR XFINITY Series™ and the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series™. How many Stages are in a race? Three — Stage 1, Stage 2 and the Final Stage. How long is Stage 1 and Stage 2? Approximately 25-30 percent of the event’s total length. Stage lengths will be determined prior to the event. What are Points? They are the points awarded to the top-10 finishers of Stage 1 and Stage 2, and all finishers of the Final Stage. They are immediately added to a driver’s points total following a stage.
