Our lecture from the police was, very probably, The Perfect Lesson Learned. Ifyou can learn something out of misery due to the image of bikers still prevelant in some folk's minds. That or bad luck, you'll tend to remember it better. As we rode in that image is alive today because of a minority of people referred to as downpour, I wondered what a driver's visibility was like. Would they Posers. You've seen them before...Posers. They're middle aged see the bikes in this downpour? Would they be able to stop in time losers with no social life, whose experience is limited to the Honda if they didn't see us? Dwelling on those questions, I realized that Dream they rode one time back in the '60's. They pathetically try we had to make ourselves more visible in a storm. The lesson to impress everyone and hide their lack of experience by posing as Page 8 some old, saddle - wise biker, with thousands of miles behind them. They believe that drag racing is a display of skill when in fact it By now, you're thinking...if this ride was so damn perfect, how takes less effort to ride straight and fast than it does for a couldyou make it any better? I suppose John Lunde and Tom Malia preschooler to color within the lines. They'll spend tens of could ride out with us for once from the start, John Fraccaro could thousands of dollars only to show that they have more money and get a front fender that wouldn't embarrass us, Carl Hart could give horsepower than brains, more bike than they can handle, pipes as ear plugs to everyone riding behind him, Kathy Citko and Sandy loud as their mouth, all new accessories including new leathers Vernon could spend more time in the saddle with us and less time designed to look old and weather worn (as if they can fool getting tanned and relaxing at the pool, Jim Haase could keep from someone.), and they're often seen dropping their bike in parking embarrassing those of us not in great physical shape by keeping his lots where only a basic level of skill is required. Sadly, every rally shirt on, Bard could put a silencer on his whistle, Gordon Tapley has their share of Posers who ruin it for those of us who try to ride could let the bugs accumulate on his windscreen just like the rest and act respectfully. What's perfect about posers? They're so of us, Roberta Arsenalt could convince husband Rod to ride obvious that they're easy to spot and avoid. something that handles bad and makes noise, Ed Jacques could put a scratch in his perfect - condition Eagle Glide so it looked like The Perfect Dinner. As with everything else, dinner was arranged everyone else's bike, Ron and Vida Kostus could let their by Bard and it was, you guessed it, perfect. Duck City, one block get just a little bit dirty, Ken Glassman could get a motorcycle to from the hotel, was the place, and it has to be the finest dining spot match his jacket theme, Joe Rabanus could stop using so much in the area. We walked to it, almost in formation but without hand suntan lotion that he looks like he starred in some kinky porno signals and were greeted by Sir Charles, the owner. Now, Sir movie, John and Darlene Eliasik could stop smiling all - the - time, Charles suffers from an overdose of charisma and, is so upbeat that Lori Hirshman could get a gas cap with a vent, Jim Irvine could it's contagious. After a l0000ng day of riding, and a l0000ng, one come back from England to ride with us again, and Kevin and Janet - block walk to Duck City, we were a bit on the tired side. That is Riddick could spend less time running between Harley shops to until we entered the restaurant and were immediately met with a replace fork seals and more time riding with us... Now that, folks, loud and warm "Welcome Top Cats!" from Sir Charles. As the other would make for a better ride! guests looked on, wondering who the hell these bikers were to deserve that kind of welcome, Sir Charles proceeded to explain the menu with such great enthusiasm thatyou wanted to eat very damn entree he talked about. Seated together outside, I wondered how they were going to handle serving over twenty of us but, my concern was unfounded. The service was great, the food was perfect and we were serenaded by a few loud pipes occasionally roaring down the street. Duck City is one of those rare places that you just can't go there once. You have to return and...we'll be back. (847) 52..6-449.9 The Perfect Return. Sunday morning was emotionally up and down only because we were heading home (down), but it was going to be 110 South Main Street Wauconda, IL. 60084 on another great ride (up), it was the end of a lame rally, (up) but the end of a perfect weekend (down), we couldn't eat breakfast at Duck City (down) so we ate at the hotel (up.) Perfect weather followed us again as we rolled north along the river on a great twisty road, stopping for a break in Bellevue on our way to Galena for lunch. Lunch was OK but after Duck City, dining at the White PASTA EEO House with the President hosting would only be OK. The only thing +CHICAGO left between us and the end of this perfect ride was a little stretch of road known as Stagecoach Trail. The Stagecoach can be treacherous with an assortment of decreasing radius curves, increasing radius curves, positive and negative camber curves and blind curves, all with varying degrees of adrenaline rushes. Bard lead the first group, ensuring that we had a Senior Road Captain with both groups, and John Fraccaro lead the second group. The ride was enjoyable, scenic, safe and uneventful and, that's right...perfect. Emporium www.idealride.com The Perfect Formation.
