Meet: 8:00 AM at Meet at the parking area of the Plattekloof Spar, CNR OLIENHOUT & PLATTEKLOOF DRIVE, Plattekloof, diagonally opposite the Panorama Hospital.
Hike details: We explore the arboretum with over 2500 trees and bushes. Also there are sections divided into the various continents.

103 - Sat, 7 Nov : Clovelly-Kalk Bay Circuit
Meet: 8:00 AM at turn off Main Road towards Clovelly at traffic lights (Clovelly Road) and meet in large sandy parking area on the left.
Hike details: We will walk through the wetlands and then up through Clovelly to ascend the “trappies.” We head up to a rock arch from which we can see the Old Mule Path leading to Muizenberg. We will descend via Weary Willy’s to Boyes Drive, then climb up the trappies to get back to Clovelly or walk along Mina Road. Well-behaved dogs are welcome if you have a TMNP permit. Rated strenuous because of a steep climb and distance, but not difficult. Minor scrambling.

Meet: 6:30 AM at Plattekloof Centre cnr. Olienhout (take exit 18 off N1) for carpooling (in front of the Gym) or 7:30 AM at Du Kloof Lodge (on the left, a few kms after exiting the Huguenot Tunnel )
Hike details: Track the river, bolder hopping from time to time and scramble (optional) to a beautiful pool and waterfall in the Limietberg Nature Reserve; starts near the eastern side of the Huguenot Tunnel - see http://hikingcapetown.co.za/hike-pages/one- dayhikes/krom-river-trail/. A Cape Nature permit is required R55 or Wild Card.

Hike details: From Spitskop you have a lovely view over the Noordhoek valley. On the way back we will meander through lesser known areas of Silvermine.

Meet: 9:00 AM at Kloof Nek parking area (we take the free shuttle to the lower cable station)
Hike details: This is a special hike for all pensioner members of our club. We go up and down with the cable car and from there we hike to maclears Beacon and back. There is some minor rock scrambling. The cost for pensioners is R100 in total. Members who don't want to do the whole hike can join us on the top and do a shorter version. Non pensioners are also welcome but the cost is R380 for them. Bring your Id.

Hike details: A fairly strenuous climb up from Constantia Nek over Vlakkenberg up to the Constantiaberg road. A long downhill from there to Chapman's Peak Drive. Magnificent views. We stop at the hotel for refreshments and call for an Uber back to the Nek.

Meet: 6:30 AM at Plattekloof Centre cnr. Olienhout (take exit 18 off N1) for carpooling (in front of the Gym) or 7:30 AM at Paarl Rocks Picnic Site (Meulwater Botanical Garden)
Hike details: Start with a couple of steep climbs (some chains) up the “pearls” of Paarl to enjoy 360° views which include Table Mountain some 60km to the west and the magnificent Du Toitskloof mountain range to the east. Hike through the Paarl Mountain Nature Reserve past dams and fynbos, finishing up with a braai at the picnic site.

Hike details: Leader will get access code to the gate. This is a picturesque hike with some rock- hopping in order to reach the top of Skoorsteenberg. Great views over Hout Bay. A litre of water is a good idea.

Hike details: A wonderful chance to see the Red Disa's, up Myberg Ravine. There will be a little bit of scrambling to get above the waterfall to see more Dizas. Then we return to the contour path and continue with the path to do some exploring at a second ravine.
