We are proud to offer the 40 Acres Field Trip, and couldn’t be happier that your school is able to attend. The activities in this workbook will help you learn about the Texas Women’s Basketball team, as well as our great uni- versity. They were officially adopted in the year 1900. - The University of Texas is home to seven museums and 17 libraries. - The University of Texas Tower was completed in 1937. It is 307 feet tall and has 27 floors. - Created in 1955 by head cheerleader Harley Clark, Jr., the “Hook ‘em, Horns” hand sign is recognized worldwide. - BEVO, a Texas longhorn, has been the school’s mascot since 1916 The longhorn represents the pride and tradition of the university.
