Scott Teare Selected As The New Secretary General of World Scouting I am absolutely delighted to share with you the following announcement re leased by the World Organization of the Scout Movement on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012.
The World Scout Committee has announced the new secretary general for the World Organization of the Scout Movement.
Scott Teare from the United States of America is the new secretary general of world Scouting. Scott is currently the director of the International Department for the Boy Scouts of America.
He is a tireless advocate for world Scouting and has successfully kept the torch of world Scouting lit within the Boy Scouts of America among its board members and officers for many years. As one of the Boy Scouts of America’s world Scouting ambassadors, Scott was recently awarded the Bronze Wolf and has contributed significantly to establishing and applying the association’s interna tional policy.
Scott has established diplomatic contacts, maintained relations, and represented the Boy Scouts of Amer ica with American businesses operating abroad, foreign embassies, key government leaders, heads of states, and royal family members in an effort to provide sustained financial support and membership growth for world Scouting.
Scott has negotiated and established beneficial relationships with other national Scout organizations around the world; and advised and supported Boy Scouts of America officers and leaders who are ac tively involved in international Scouting commitments, including regional and World Scout Committees and subcommittees, and regional and World Scout Foundations. His direct involvement in supporting the Interamerican Scout Region, especially in setting up the new regional office in Panama, has been espe cially noteworthy. The new secretary general will take office on Jan. 1, 2013, at the World Scout Bureau Central Office.

BSA Jamboree 2013 IFSR Jamboree Commitment
My Fellow Scouting Rotarians. As you are probably aware the Boy Scouts of America will be holding the National Jamboree in July next year. This will be the first jamboree at the new Bechtel Summit. IFSR has been invited to attend this event and have a booth with a display. However we will need staff. If you are already registered to attend the jamboree and would like to be part of our team or if you have not yet applied but would like to attend and know that you will be assigned to the IFSR booth please contact me as soon as possible. Full details about the jamboree are available at the BSA website including costs. There is a possibility that we can send staffers that will not make the commitment for the whole jambo ree but only part of the time. Nigerian IFSR member seeks joint twinning project with Rotary Clubs(s)
Dear Brian, How are you and your family. I was happy you introduced me to Fellowship of Scouting Rotarians at the RI convention in Bangkok, Thailand. Thanks once again. Since then, I got back and have been gathering scouting organizations and having meetings with them both in Rotary circle and public. I need a favor from you. My club needs a partner club on some of our projects and I hope you can help talk to your club to be our partner or twin club as Rotary International will call it. After getting your reply and the readiness of fellow Rotarians to assist on these projects, my club has gone to all project sites to take photographs of potential beneficiaries of the projects based on needs assessment and all the project locations. Attached are photos with fresh proposals**. I hope to read from you soon. Castle Saunderson International Scout Centre inaugurated on the Irish border Located within the border region of Ireland, between Cavan, Fermanagh and Monaghan, the “Castle Saunderson International Scout Centre” will encourage greater levels of inter action amongst young people from different religious, ethnic and cultural backgrounds. With the help of a EU grant worth EUR 3,45 million, a 30 acre multi activity center has been built, including fully equipped indoor facilities as well as a campsite capable of ac commodating up to 1’000 people at any given time. The Scout Movement has a long and proud tradition of helping young people achieve their full potential and become responsi ble citizens. Castle Saunderson International Scout Centre will allow this tradition to con tinue and ensure future generations learn the leadership, self reliance and team building skills that Scouts are famous for.
