WORFIELD LIST OF GRAVESTONES AND MEMORIALS 2009 BY LOCATION Compiled by Jane Smith and including work carried out by Worfield WI

This list is a record of all the gravestones and memorials in the Churchyard of St Peter's Worfield. Part 1 consists of a listing of the lower churchyard, next to the Church, and Part 2 which is in the process of completion lists those buried in the upper churchyard at Hallon. To find the upper churchyard take the little lane on the North side of the church and go uphill until you reach a T junction. Turn right and walk a short distance and the upper churchyard is on the right. In 1983/4 Worfield WI transcribed the gravestone inscriptions and I have checked my findings against theirs. In the 25 years since the WI survey several of the stones have become illegible and where this is the case I have inserted the 1983/4 information.

There are bound to be errors in a work of this kind so I would be grateful if you could notify me of errors and omissions either by email to [email protected] or by post to Mrs J.A. Smith, 6, The Paddock, Perton, WV6 7UE. This document is also online at www.sharehistory.org

PART 1 The lower churchyard has been divided into sections and the numbering starts from the church outwards. The next row starts at the outer point and works back to the church (think of it like ploughing a field.) The rows are by no means well defined so in some places require some imagination!

LIST BY LOCATION In this section numbering goes from the left hand side of the church porch(with your back to the church) and follows the direction of the main path towards the main gate
