HOW DO I APPLY?

2. VISIT CAMPUS

We recommend all prospective student-athletes visit campus. If necessary, a meeting will be arranged with the Admissions Office. Ideally, this meeting would take place during a one-week camp program at IMG Academy.

3. DECISION AND ENROLLMENT

IMG has rolling admissions. Notification of decisions will be sent regularly. If offered admission to IMG Academy, a Tuition Enrollment Agreement (TEA) will be sent and must be returned by the date indicated, with the required financial deposit.

WHAT ARE MY CHANCES OF GETTING A COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP AFTER ATTENDING IMG ACADEMY?

Nobody is guaranteed a college scholarship when (s)he comes to IMG Academy, but we provide every opportunity possible to help our student- athletes earn one. The potential for earning a scholarship is heightened with the right amount of commitment and dedication.

While much of the responsibility is on the student-athlete to perform to the best of his or her ability in a chosen sport an in the classroom, IMG Academy provides all the tools necessary to help a student- athlete earn a scholarship, including a dedicated College Planning and Placement advisor.

HOW DO I KEEP UP WITH SCHOOLWORK IF I’M TRAVELING FOR MY SPORT?

The education requirements for student- athletes do not stop when they travel, as the balance is part of their preparation for collegiate life.

While much of the responsibility is on the student-athlete to perform to the best of his or her ability in a chosen sport an in the classroom, IMG Academy provides all the tools necessary to help a student- athlete earn a scholarship, including a dedicated College Planning and Placement advisor. All involved parties can communicate and plan through this system. Extra help with teachers is also available to student-athletes upon their return. If a team is scheduled to travel for more than five days, a faculty member may travel with the team to ensure that schoolwork is being completed.

All student-athletes are evaluated on their competency – 11th/12th graders must submit TOEFL iBT scores and all other student-athletes are encouraged to submit TOEFL iBT or TOEFL Junior scores – and then go through a final assessment before being placed in the appropriate program.

The IMG Academy’s College Planning and Placement Department works with all IMG Academy student-athletes and families to create an individualized roadmap for reaching their goal of studying and playing their sport at the collegiate level. This work begins when a student enters upper school (grade 9) and incorporates families, coaches and both university admission and athletic staff in our efforts.

The College Planning and Placement Department works to educate each student, family, coach and staff member with the nuances of NCAA eligibility. The NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) is made up of college and university member institutions, which develop and implement rules and regulations to determine participation and protect fairness in every sport. Our staff offers educational workshops, monitors academic certification, tracks recruitment activities and oversees amateurism issues so that student-athletes, parents and college coaches can have full confidence that an IMG Academy graduates will have a complete understanding of the rules in place that govern their eligibility to play at the next level.

SAT/ACT PREP

IMG Academy student-athletes take a year-long, SAT/ ACT preparatory course that begins in the spring semester of their sophomore year and continues through the end of the fall semester of their junior year. The course is scheduled to coincide with the optimal timing for student- athletes to begin preparing for the test and complete their preparation when they are expected to begin taking the SAT. Preparation includes critical strategies, test-taking tips, topic-specific lessons and online prep courses.

IMG Academy has revolutionized the concept of summer school. Available to enrolled student-athletes, the summer school program is the perfect balance of ongoing coursework with personalized sport training.

Delivered with the oversight of dedicated academic faculty, student-athletes will receive one upper school credit upon completion of each course.

Student-athletes who enroll in our summer school program will continue to develop a working school/sport balance that will translate to their success in college and beyond. With the flexibility of an online class and the supportive oversight of a faculty member, student-athletes will have the chance to excel in a highly motivating environment that fosters growth and development.

On top of a robust academic education, attendees of our summer school program will also get the chance to train with our elite coaching staff to continue enhancing the fundamentals of their game. The IMG Academy Post-Graduate program provides an exciting opportunity for motivated student-athletes to broaden their college options.

By spending a “gap” year on our campus, post-graduate (PG) student-athletes have access to our exceptional athletic and academic resources. The PG student develops their athletic skills and gain the confidence and maturity to become more competitive in the college admission process. The PG student is supported by a dedicated advisor who enhances their experience and helps them reach their goals.

At IMG Academy, the PG student takes a rigorous load of high-level academic classes while participating in one of our sport programs. Additionally, they submit to an SAT/ACT prep course to increase their academic advantage.

The PG student-athlete has two options when entering the program:

1. UPPER SCHOOL ADVANCED PLACEMENT/SENIOR LEVEL/COLLEGE FRESHMAN-EQUIVALENT COURSES

This PG option strengthens an already high-level transcript and strongly positions the student for a four-year competitive college. This option is traditionally chosen by PG students who desire to attend an elite academic university.

2. COLLEGE COURSES

This PG option includes multiple college courses offered on our campus and taught by professors from the University of South Florida. Courses are designed to transfer to both colleges and universities to insure a seamless transition into advanced college curriculum.

DINING

IMG Academy serves a daily buffet-style breakfast, lunch and dinner complete with healthy selections for the training athlete. The Campus Center houses the west campus dining hall, with a variety of food stations including a grill, deli and salad bar. It also is home to three additional dining options - La Boulangerie (coffee shop/bakery), Fuzion (Asian fusion) and Brick Oven (pizzaria). Athletes can also grab custom blended smoothies at our on-campus Smoothie King locations.

HEALTH SERVICES

With a knowledgeable, compassionate team of nurses on duty 24 hours a day to assist, Health Services provides support to student-athletes for any type of medical issue. Provided by Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, Health Services can also help student-athletes with pre- existing medical conditions by distributing prescription medication at designated times to ensure safety and proper dosage.

If advanced medical care is necessary, an appointment can be scheduled with our on-campus medical provider, with most major insurances accepted. If a referral to a specialist is recommended, the Health Services team will provide assistance by helping to schedule appointments and transportation.
