Friday, November 5,1999 The oldest continuously published newspaper in Bulloch County Pag( New Musical Talent in Atlanta Rufus Moore's Top 5 CDs By Derrick Bailey 11" Staff Writer The debut Crow's Nest from Jim Crow proves that there is musical talent in Atlanta. This album delivered by Atlanta's Mr. Mo, Cutty Cartel and Powlow is composed of several stories compacted into one CD. On this album, the group Jim Crow finds itself in many different situations ranging from messing around with their friend's girl, to their car breaking down in front of a club, to realizing how good it is to just be alive. Crow's Nest possesses a lot of catchy beats with several background vocals by Cutty Cartel, who raps and sings on this record. He delivers a chilling hook in the song "One of these Days," in which he sings "gotta hold on/ gotta be strong/ cause people don't live that long no more." Jim Crow makes an effort to remind its audience that it doesn't matter how big you make it in life; never forget where you came from. They stress this poini as they sing in the song "Big Dreams," "big dreams make Rufus Moore, President of Pr" big stars/ Don't forget who you are."
