General Scholarship Opportunities Alpha Kappa Alpha Educational Advancement Foundation Award: $750 - $2,500 http://www.akaeaf.org At the heart of EAF’s commitment is the idea that academic excellence comes in many forms. There are three ways in which the Foundation carries out its mission: Academic Scholarships, Fellowships and Community Assistance Awards. Candidates must be a full-time and currently enrolled graduate student at an accredited campus-based degree-granting institution. Association of Management Consulting Firms (AMCF): The Richard Metzler Scholarships http://www.amcf.org The primary bases for selection are scholarship and a commitment to management consulting. Other qualities such as initiative, character, responsibility and community service are also considered. Candidates must show evidence of strong leadership skills and have demonstrated responsible citizenship through community service or related activities. The Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowship for New Americans Award: $20,000 http://www.pdsoros.org/ The purpose of The Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans is to provide opportunities for continuing generations of able and accomplished New Americans to achieve leadership in their chosen fields. The Program is established in recognition of the contributions New Americans have made to American life and in gratitude for the opportunities the United States has afforded the donors and their family. Government Finance Officers Association (Multiple Scholarships) http://www.gfoa.org Daniel B. Goldberg Scholarship The Daniel B. Goldberg Scholarship of $10,000 is available for award to a graduate student who is enrolled in full- time master’s study preparing for a career in state and local government finance. Frank L. Greathouse Government Accounting Scholarship The Government Finance Officers Association's Frank L. Greathouse Government Accounting Scholarship of $5,000 is available for award to one or more undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in full-time study preparing for a career in state and local government finance. Institute for Humane Studies Award: $12,000 http://www.theihs.org The Institute for Humane Studies awards scholarships up to $12,000 for undergraduate or graduate study in the United States or abroad. IHS considers applications from those who will be full-time graduate students, including law and journalism students, or undergraduate juniors or seniors during the 2010-11 academic year and who have a clearly demonstrated research interest in the intellectual and institutional foundations of a free society. 1 The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants Student Scholarship Program Award: $2,500 http://ceae.aicpa.org The AICPA/Accountemps Student Scholarship program provides financial assistance to students who are currently majoring in accounting, finance, or information systems. These awards are intended to encourage students to consider careers in accounting and business. The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants: John L. Carey Scholarship Program Award: $5,000 http://ceae.aicpa.org The AICPA John L. Carey Scholarship program provides financial assistance to liberal arts degree holders pursuing graduate studies in accounting and the CPA designation. These awards are intended to encourage students with little or no previous accounting education to consider professional accounting careers. The John Gyles Education Fund http://www.johngyleseducationcenter.com John Gyles Education Awards are available each year to students in both Canada and the United States. They are the result of a private, benevolent endeavor established in 1990. Those selected will receive up to $3,000.00. Several scholarships are awarded directly to students and a list of recipients is available at the end of each calendar year. To apply for a scholarship applicants must be enrolled full-time at (or accepted to) a college or university program as an undergraduate or graduate student. The Kosciuszko Foundation Award: $1,000-$7,000 http://www.thekf.org/kf United States citizens and permanent residents of Polish descent who are beginning or continuing graduate studies in academic year 2011-2012 and have a minimum 3.0. GPA. Appraisal Institute: Educational Undergraduate Scholarship Award: $2,000 http://www.appraisalinstitute.org This scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic excellence and is intended to help finance the education endeavors of individuals concentrating in real estate appraisal, land economics, real estate or allied fields. Institute of Real Estate Management Foundation http://www.irem.org In recognition of the importance of education to the enhancement of the industry, the IREM Foundation is a major provider of scholarships for the real estate management profession. The intent of the scholarship program is to reach out to and assist those who are interested in pursuing an education in real estate management SHRM Foundation Student Scholarships Award: $5,000 http://www.shrm.org/Pages/default.aspx The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Foundation Board has voted to commit $50,000 annually to a new and improved scholarship program for national SHRM student members. 2 FUNED Scholarship for Mexican Nationals This scholarship is provided by Fundación Mexicana para la Educación, la Tecnología y la Ciencia, A.C. (FUNED) and the Boston University School of Management. Boston University will provide a maximum of three scholarships ranging from $16,000 to $35,000 under its agreement with FUNED. All incoming Mexican nationals will be considered for this scholarship by submitting an application for admission. Minorities in Government Finance Scholarship Award: $5,000 http://www.gfoa.org The GFOA's Minorities in Government Finance Scholarship of $5,000 is available for award to an upper-division undergraduate or graduate student of public administration, (governmental) accounting, finance, political science, economics, or business administration (with a specific focus on government or nonprofit management). Chicana/Latina Foundation Scholarship Award: $1,500 http://chicanalatina.org The purpose of the Chicana/Latina Foundation Scholarship Fund is to assist Latina students in completing their undergraduate and graduate college education. These scholarships are available on a competitive basis to continuing undergraduate and graduate female college students of Latino background. American Indian Fellowship in Business Scholarship Program http://www.ncaied.org Each year, the National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development awards five scholarships to American Indian college or graduate students majoring in business. Eligible students must be enrolled full-time at the junior, senior or gradate level. Scholarships are awarded at the Indian Progress in Business (INPRO) held annually in September. The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants: Scholarship for Minority Accounting Students Award: $1,500 - $5,000 http://www.aicpa.org This scholarship program provides awards to outstanding minority students to encourage their selection of accounting as a major and their ultimate entry into the profession. Funding is provided by the AICPA Foundation, with contributions from the New Jersey Society of CPAs and Robert Half International. For four decades, this program has provided over $14 million in scholarships to approximately 8,000 accounting scholars.
