RECRUITMENT INITIATIVES TYPE OF RECRUITMENT INITIATIVE BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITY (MENU SELECTION) 1 Online Classifieds An online classified advertisement ran regarding announcer position and benefits available. 2 Radio Announcements Stations of the Employment Unit ran announcements targeted to groups and organizations requesting that they notify the station(s) if they wish to be notified when employment positions are available. 3 National Association of Farm Broadcasting Farm Director Jody Heemstra, attended the National Association of Farm Broadcasting annual meeting virtually. She spoke with student members of NAFB regarding careers in radio. 4 TF Riggs High School Careers & Employability Announcer Chuck Hanson, News Director Class Jody Heemstra and Sales Executive Dawn Marso attended the class to discuss the radio industry and job opportunities. Topics also covered included interview recommendations. Class teacher was Kate Olson. 5 FFA Convention Farm News Director Jody Heemstra and Announcer Darren Boyle participated in the fall FFA project contests event to assist and critique the Ag Broadcasting segment. 6 TF Riggs High School Combined Post High All Riggs High School students along with Planning & Career Fair Juniors and Seniors from Stanley County High School attended the career fair. We had announcers and sales staff visit with the students. We had equipment set up to show them how audio tracks are recorded and we shared information from the Broadcasting Engineers Society including their scholarship application. 7 Job Shadow Through TF Riggs Counseling Department we had a high school senior shadow our staff to learn about the broadcast industry. The student spent time in each department to learn about being on air, producing news, commercial production, sales and digital marketing. 8 Radio Advertising Bureau Membership & Participation through RAB providing staff Participation training on Recruiting/Maintaining Multi Generational Workforce and Strategies for Productivity while Working Remotely. 9 National Association of Broadcasters Podcasts and On Demand Webcasts for staff Membership & Participation to engage remote employees. 10 Junior Achievement Board & Mentor Sales & Digital Manager serves on the local board of directors of Junior Achievement to help teach local youth about entrepreneurial opportunities as well as employment opportunities in the field of broadcasting. .
