The Journal of the Royal Historical Society of Queensland publishes papers on the history of both Queensland and Austraha and its territories. Papers on topics not of national signifiance and of relevance solely to States other than Queensland will not normally be considered. The Society welcomes the submission of papers both for presentation to meetings of the Society or for pubHcation in the Journal. Papers presented at meetings will automatically be considered for pubHcation in the Journal. Authors need not be members of the Society. 2. Manuscripts should be typed on one side of the paper only, using double spacing and ample margins. Papers longer than about 7,000 words wiH only be considered in exceptional cases. Maps and photographs for illustrations should accompany the paper. Photographs should be on glossy paper, and preferably of size 15 by 20 centimetres. 3. Papers should include a list of sources used. References may be indicated by numerical superscripts if desired. The references and notes should appear at the end of the paper, in order of appearence. Excessive numbers or references should be avoided. 4. It is a condition of publication in the Journal that the paper has not already been published elsewhere. The Society's constitution and rules provide that the original copy of every paper read or given shall become the property of the Society and authors shall not be at liberty without the consent of the CouncH of the Society to re-publish them unless the contrary has been so stipulated before hand. As the Society is a cultural organisation operating on limited funds, payment is not made for any papers presented or published. 160 Annual Subscriptions to the Society are: 1.
