ANNUAL REPORT JAGO FOUNDATION 2014 - 2015 ANNUAL REPORT From the Secretary Desk We are pleased to place the Annual Report for the year 2014-15, our 17th year in the Development field. At a time when the institution was formed, when social, economic, political, cultural, and environmental issues had been unleashed in the giridih district. As well as social problems such as dowry, dowry deaths, child marriage, child labour, child trade, rape, migration rise rates, pollution and education problems was rise. At the present time the government made several important laws such as Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, 2005, Right to Information Act, 2005, Free and Compulsory Education Act 2009, Forest Right Act 2006, Child Marriage Prohibition Act 2006, Child Protection Act 2006 & so on. But the law information has not reached among the peoples. So at a time increases the importance of our institution. It is our pleasure to contribute effectively in this reporting year towards education of marginalized children through institutions and various programs. It’s worth mentioning about girls’- educational sponsorship program which ensured continuing high school education for 1308 adolescent girls and boys, checking their marriage at childhood. During 2014-15, a very challenging program got started as a child marriage. Jago Foundation aims to develop a society based on equity, justice and fraternity. Many of the volunteers are the representatives of the underprivileged sections of the society from the remote rural areas of Giridih district. They have has also initiated a multi-pronged effort with different potential stakeholders towards larger policy advocacy processes. The organisation has worked extensively on the issue of the child rights, with a focus on forest, agriculture and land issues. Orientation of the youth to ensure emerging leadership in the community efforts to address child rights violations are some focused areas of intervention. It was formed in 1995 for encourage social empowerment & activities. 1n 1995, it was made the formal terms under the Indian trust act, 1882. Since inception, Jago Foundation is trying to establish a strong conscious society. The big trend is isolation due to Social & economic problems at the village levels. Society has to be isolated and divided into pieces and people began to lose confidence. The organization is committed strengthening peoples power, bringing symmetry to the society and to in still confidence in people as well as tips on rural youth, Men and so on. This institution is one of the district’s small and emerging organizations. In this institute, all officials and members are educated. Our Vision Tribal, Primitive Tribes, Backward, Neglected, Poor, Exploited and Under Privileged People Such As Women, Childs, Disabled, Small and Marginal Farmers, Labourers, Artisans and so on, Try to get into the mainstream of society. Aim Justice, Brotherhood, Sisterhood based on equitable, Conscientious, Self supporting and self – respecting society must be setting. Gender equality, Protection of natural heritage and establish community rights. Purpose To remove social, Economic, Political and Educational inequities. Lead to the mainstream of development in disadvantaged communities. To encourage local initiative for skill development, awareness and dignified life by the organization. Develop science traditional beliefs for environment protection enhancement. To overcome the mentality of gender and gender differences. Bring self – sufficiency inside of women through development and empowerment. Bring trends and charm in young group, adolescents, and children for education and social changes. To generate the necessary efficiency related to health, education, empowerment, environment and cultural issues. To bring charm for agriculture and develop sustainable livelihood for the traditional organic farming. To build village funds or self – help group. To empower the traditional local governance and village council and to advocate policy for make people – focused of development policies. Development of art – culture. The government will provide an enabling environment to step with the growing, the children’s intelligence, development, protection and participation on the rise, so that each child can identify the hidden talents and a healthy and conscious citizen of the country. Therefore Jago Foundation are being work from 10 years of 40 villages in 13 panchayat of Giridih Sadar, Jamua, Birni and Kodrama blocks of giridih and kodrama district. For Fulfilment of this project, the institution has consistently received support by the Officers, Teacher, Representations, Media and local parents. Right to Survival Due to lack of awareness inside of the people and people do not understand about birth registration as well as AWCs facility is not available in all villages. After running so many program of the village, people are afraid of vaccination and AWCs, ANM and sahiya do not have to work actively because of which, do not get fully immunized of children. After shown this situation, regular contact, meeting, awareness program, wall writing, fair, seminar etc. Program was held by the Jago Foundation. Outcomes of the project: 243 Births were registered 278 Fully immunized Guardian has been aware through the birth registered 4 ICDS Empowered ANM, Sahiya and ICDS worker was active Government officers has been aware though the Birth registration JAGO FOUNDATION, GIRIDIH 7 ANNUAL REPORT Right to Development Jago Foundation was organized various kind of program for 100% enrolment and stagnation in school and improving irregularities meeting of SMC & VC. There have been 6529 children enrolled till December 2015, as well as 230 drop out children have been linked to education and is still studying. Under this project, 20 child assembly, 37 adolescent group and 26 child committee and empowered have been formed. It has a strong growth inside the children and known very well about their problem. Participant Due to anxiety, teenagers did not keep their things in front of the elderly and teacher as well as they were not able to participants in school events. There are various campaign held by jago foundation such as, Baal Sabha, Baal Sansad, Adolescent group etc. From this reduced anxiety in Children.
