Trimano_Anzeige_ESSKA_2012.indd 1 28.03.2012 14:05:36 WELCOME ADDRESS ESSKA PRESIDENT Welcome to ESSKA’s 15th biannual Congress! For this congress we invite you to Geneva, a spectacular city set in a spectacular landscape, and one to which we all of us owe a great deal. Geneva is not only the city of chocolate and the Red Cross. It was also Calvin’s city and because of that it played a major part in creating the modern world, the world of hard-work and dedication to task, the very qualities that we value in ourselves, as doctors and professionals. And behind this – our 15th Congress – there has certainly been a deal of hard work and dedication. We have assembled some of the world’s authorities in sport traumatology, knee surgery and arthroscopy. There will be ICLs, ground-breaking lectures, symposia, poster discussion sessions, as well as the presentation of awards. With regard to the last two years, I am proud to conclude that we have done much of what we said we would do. In international terms, ESSKA has become a trusted umbrella orga- nization with a growing number of members and affiliated societies, especially in Europe. We have managed this, quite simply, because we “only go for the best”, hence the growing esteem of our congresses. We are open and enthusiastic and this seems to attract young researchers and scientists. And of course the geography helps us – so much quality within such a short distance. We in ESSKA promote education and research, using our biannual congress as a flagship. And we are convinced that this will be the best Congress ever, and that you will go home having made new friends, formed new and valuable contacts, and learned new techniques from the leaders in the field. If we can manage that then you will leave Geneva and say to yourselves – as many have said of our last congress – that “this is the place where it happens, this is the place to be”... And we in ESSKA will have achieved our goal, creating a framework for professionals in our field! As ESSKA’s President I would just like to add my personal thanks to all who have created this congress. Prof. C. Niek van Dijk President of ESSKA MAY 2-5, 2012 · GENEVA/SWITZERLAND 1 WELCOME ADDRESS CONGRESS PRESIDENT Welcome to Geneva As President of the organizing committee, I am happy to welcome you to the 15th ESSKA Congress in Geneva. Early May is a good period to visit and discover Geneva and its surroundings. There are some excellent reasons to participate in this ESSKA meeting: • A very attractive scientific programme has been created by Jacques Ménétrey and Stefano Zaffagnini who have started to work on it 2 years ago. Guest speakers, highlight lectures, instructional course lectures, symposia, mini-battles, Happy Poster Hours and free papers will be presented in 6 parallel rooms. • The city of Geneva offers a wide choice of attractions. On the hill of the Old City, you can visit an archaeological exhibition, under St-Pierre cathedral which bear witness of more than 23 centuries of history. Leisure activities and shopping will bring you from the tiny roads of the Old City to the wide lakeshore where you will discover the fountain (Jet d’eau) which rises 140 metres over the level of the lake. • Jean-Jacques Rousseau, famous writer, philosopher and musician, is a child of Geneva where he was born in 1712. We celebrate the 300th anniversary of his birth with various expositions, conferences, concerts and special events. The Jean-Jacques Rousseau Institute, precursor of the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences, is celebrating its 100th anniversary. • During the meeting we will host a “Watchmaker course” on Thursday and Friday. This 2 hours course run by the Bucherer Company will give participants the opportunity to take apart a mechanical watch movement and – then – to rebuild it piece by piece. As Geneva is the capital of the major watch companies of the world, this course is a rare occasion to discover the body of a simple mechanical watch. • Another workshop will attract your attention: the Victorinox company, worldwide known for its famous “swiss knife”, will offer a course on “Manufacture of a knife”. The partici- pants will build up a pocket knife under the supervision of professional experts. • For these 2 courses, a financial contribution of 25,00 EUR each will be asked. • The Gala Dinner, scheduled on Friday May 4, will be organized at the Starling Hotel, adjacent to PALEXPO. This dinner offers a unique opportunity to meet friends and peo- ple from all European countries and the rest of the world. The “Acappella” singers will entertain the audience and a musical atmosphere will extend the evening. Do not miss it! We hope that you will enjoy these 4 days of ESSKA scientific activities and friendship and that you will bring back home a brilliant souvenir of Geneva. Prof. Daniel FRITSCHY Congress President 2 www.esska-congress.org · 15th ESSKA CONGRESS WELCOME ADDRESS SCIENTIFIC CHAIRMEN Dear colleagues and members of ESSKA, The European Society of Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy (ESSKA) has the pleasure of inviting you to the 15th ESSKA Congress in Geneva, May 2-5, 2012. We are proud to welcome you to the best scientific programme ever which features 18 Instructional Course Lectures, 218 podium presentations, and more than 650 posters. The scientific value of the work submitted has been very high generating a rude competition for abstract acceptance and podium presentations. We therefore encourage you to also visit the poster venue where you’ll find interesting and high level studies presented. Altogether, there will be more than 45 symposia, and 40 lectures and battles. Our initial wish was to render our sessions more interactive and we count on your participation to animate the debates. Don’t be shy! Of course, this year’s congress introduces several new and exciting features. One of those is the first Comprehensive Sports Medicine Review Course. A second is the “Poster Happy Hour” Session (with beverages and snacks) Wednesday and Thursday with all presenters standing at their posters waiting for stimulating discussions with the delegates. A third is the presence of a video booth available throughout the entire meeting where technical tips and pearls will be displayed. We welcome our seven Highlight Speakers: Jean-Noël Argenson (France), Grégoire Courtine (Switzerland), Pierre Chambat (France), John Feagin (USA), Freddie Fu (USA), Tim Hewett (USA), and Johnny Huard (Canada/USA), who will give insight into the frontline of sports traumatology and degenerative problems. We are proud to invite these eminent and distinguished speakers to our ESSKA congress. Just as during the Porto and Oslo congresses, the best papers of all submitted abstracts have been selected for the « Star Paper Session ». The 6 papers with the highest scores will compete for the Theo-van-Rens Award on Thursday in the Plenary Hall. We are also happy to present a full 3-day Physiotherapist programme with lectures, work- shops, symposia and free papers, and a one day Nurse course that will be held on Friday. The programme on Thursday, Friday and Saturday will start with the Instructional Course Lectures, followed by the plenary sessions with invited speakers giving highlight lectures. From 10.30 h, there will be 6 parallel rooms with symposia, lectures, free papers, debates, and symposia. The scientific programme committee has worked hard on integration, geographical and scientific balance and you will find several women and new young speakers. During the lunch breaks the industry will organise lunch symposia, demonstrating the latest technology available. These events are important, and most probably the best opportunity to keep up with the modern techniques. The congress starts Wednesday morning, May 2nd, and will end on Saturday, May 5th at lunch time. We cordially welcome you all to Geneva to share ideas and to participate in an exciting scientific and social programme. In front of a crowded Cathedral of Christ the Light Bishop Barber told them he was zeroing in on the third vow they would take shortly, to celebrate the Mass and administer the Sacrament of Confession worthily. “You will never violate the Seal of Confession,” Bishop Barber told the three new priests. “No state or government can oblige you to betray your penitents.” Legislation — SB 360 — has passed the state Senate and is moving to the Assembly. It will compel a priest to reveal to police some sins he hears in confession. The new priests, John Anthony Pietruszka, 32, Javier Ramirez, 43, and Mark Ruiz, 56, listened attentively. Father Pietruszka is from Fall River Massachusetts; Father Ramirez from Culiacán, Sinaloa, Mexico; and Mark Father Ruiz was born and raised in Oakland. • Bab Ii “Menarikan Sang Liyan” : Feminisme Dalam Industri Musik
BAB II “MENARIKAN SANG LIYAN”i: FEMINISME DALAM INDUSTRI MUSIK “A feminist approach means taking nothing for granted because the things we take for granted are usually those that were constructed from the most powerful point of view in the culture ...”
