14 Important dates and information Fall 2018 Dates Your JMU Email Account and JMU Arrival Day: August 19 Access Card Orientation (Required): August 19-25 During your orientation, you will create your official First Day of Semester: August 27 JMU student email address. This will be your Thanksgiving Recess: November 19-23 primary communication with your ISC staff, Last Day of Classes: December 7 teachers and classmates. You should get used Exam Period: December 8-14* to checking this email daily to keep up with your assignments and grades. *Students may not leave prior to December 14.

You will receive a JMU Access Card (JACards). This card will be your student identification for discounts and give you access to get into residence halls, use laundry machines, computer labs, URec (gym), swipe-only meeting spaces in libraries, and to pay for meals on their meal plans at on-campus eateries, which you will need anytime you want to eat at one of the dining halls or restaurants.
