The usual extra meeting was held on 26th March 1962 for Professor Richmond's report on the progress of the Inchtuthil excavations. Rhind Lectures. The Rhind Lectures 1961-2 were delivered in March 1962 by Mr Seton Lloyd, C.B.E. Administration Resignation of Secretary. The Council accepted with regret the retirement of Mr J. G. Scott, M.A., from his position as Secretary, and expressed the gratitude of the Society for his valuable services. The Council also accepted with regret the resignation of Miss Sheila Cregeen from the post of Assistant-Secretary and expressed their gratitude for her services. Major Charles S. Higgins has taken over this post. Abstract of Accounts. In order to save expense on printing and postage, an abstract of the Treasurer's Annual Account is exhibited for inspection by Fellows, the circulation of copies to individual Fellows being discontinued.

Special Grants Gunning Fellowship. The Gunning Fellowship for 1962 was awarded to Mr Alexander Fenton for visits to Danish museums and the study of Danish methods of research into agricultural material. Chalmers-Jervise Prize. As no entry of the required standard was received, this Prize was not awarded.
