ABOUT US 1936 -SimlaYoungs Football Club founded in Simla, by a group of Englishmen and Indians, to play the Durand Cup. We are a well known registered club of Delhi, registered under Delhi Soccer Association, All India Football Federation, Asian Football Confederation & FIFA umbrella. 1947 - The club shifts to Delhi and is managed by Mr CL Sharma. 1970s - 1980s - Coached by Mr BS Chauhan, was ranked 3rd in India. Defeats clubs like Mohd Sporting, JCT etc in 1973 and reaches the Semi Finals of Durand Cup, Has won the Delhi Soccer Association title in 1952, 1970, 1972, 1973, 1976, and 2005. These players have captained the Delhi State teams :1949 SR Karim, 1969 Hakikat Singh, 1972 Matbir Singh Bisht, 1976 Dalip Singh, 1979 Muni Lal, 1986 Dalip Kumar, 2000 Sandeep Sharma, 2002 Vinay Singh. 1999 - Tushar Dev of Dev Solutions started managing the club. Sriram Singh, 7th in 800m, 1976 Montreal Olympics, is the President of the Club. 2000 - Started a website called www.kickoff2010.org, to help India qualify for the 2010 World Cup. Previous studies have discussed that religious beliefs, traditions and social barriers seriously constrain women’s participation in physical activity and sports. In Turkey, however, although there are no restrictions against the participation of women in either physical activities or sports in the legal sense, it has been reported in many scientific research-projects conducted that certain segments of the society have a negative attitude against sports. The aim of this study was to determine the history of the women’s volleyball in Turkey where confusion prevails between Easternization and Westernization. In this connection, the paper reports on how women’s volleyball has undergone a successful silent revolution and become internationally successful by overcoming religious and traditional barriers. In conclusion, the international successes of the Turkish Women’s Volleyball in spite of its short history, has not emerged as a result of a generally widespread and institutionalized volleyball culture in the country. Ever since volleyball has emerged in Turkey, it has attained permanent success with the extraordinary contributions of the Istanbul teams with large budgets, teams owned by state organizations, company teams and individuals like Selim Sırrı Tarcan, Sabbiha Rifat Erayman and members of the Eczacıbaşı family who were devoted supporters of sports, especially women’s volleyball.     LIST OF PLAYERS FROM ASSAM WHO REPRESENTED INDIAN NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM 1. DR. TALIMEREN AO : Dr. Talimeren Ao was born on 28 January 1918 in Changki village of Nagaland. Talimeren Ao, popularly known as T Ao, is considered as one of India’s all time great soccer players. He played for the Maharana Club of Guwahati In 1943 Ao joined Mohun Bagan. In Mohun Bagan, Ao was Centre-Half and along with his two Backs, they were popularly known as "the Great Wall of China". He was given the captain's armband in 1948 to captain the Indian Football Team in London. In 1948, a year after India won its independence, Ao was the captain of the India national football team in the 1948 Summer Olympics, in the team's first official game and was the flag-bearer of the Indian contingent. The Indian team's first match was against Burma, but the game was a walkover. In India's second match, against France, the team lost 2–1, with the India goal coming from Sarangapani Raman. Ao played five more matches for India before retiring. Dr. Ao was Doctor by profession and he was given the post of Assistant Civil Surgeon. He later became Civil Surgeon. He went on to be appointed Director of Nagaland Health Services, from which he retired in 1978. In 2002 the Mohun Bagan honored him by creating the Mohun Bagan Ratna Award and giving him a Life Membership.
