UNIQLO Appoints Gordon Reid MBE as New Global Brand Ambassador Enters Long-term Partnership Agreement with World’s Number 1 Player

July 10, 2017, London, UK – today announces Gordon Reid MBE (Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire)*, the world’s top** male professional wheelchair tennis player, Paralympics singles gold medalist as its latest Global Brand Ambassador. The appointment marks the first time UNIQLO has selected a British athlete for the global role.

Speaking of the appointment, , Chairman, President and CEO of the UNIQLO parent company, , said, “We are delighted that Mr. Reid joins us as the newest UNIQLO Global Brand Ambassador. Effective immediately, the partnership sees Reid promoting the UNIQLO brand and its signature LifeWear worldwide. About Gordon Reid MBE Gordon was born on the October 2, 1991 in Alexandria, Scotland. In 2007, he became the youngest national wheelchair tennis champion in the UK aged just 15, and in the same year, he led the Great Britain junior team to win the World Team Cup. In 2016 Gordon won singles titles at the , Wimbledon and won the coveted Gold medal at the Rio Paralympic games. He finished the year as world number one and was honored with an MBE. Gordon is ranked No.1* in the world singles rankings.
