Wednesday, 10/4, 6:30 p.m.: A Day at the Races 1937 NR 1h 50m In this madcap escapade, the Marx Brothers aid Judy Standish (Maureen O'Sullivan), who runs a private sanitarium that's facing foreclosure. Groucho plays (horse doctor!) Hugo Hackenbush, and the one-liners fly, providing hearty laughs all around. Harpo mimes and Chico obliterates the English language in the guise of a racing tipster with a suspicious Italian accent. Perennial foil Margaret Dumont is on hand as a rich, fussy sanitarium patient.

Saturday, 10/7, 6:30 p.m. only: Diner 1982 R 1h 50m In 1959 Baltimore, former school chums facing adulthood find solace at the local diner, where the banter between groom-to-be Eddie (Steve Guttenberg), best man Billy (Tim Daly), womanizer Boogie (Mickey Rourke), married Shrevie (Daniel Stern) and quirky Modell (Paul Reiser) ranges from girls to growing old. Ellen Barkin and co-star in writer-director 's debut feature, which received an Oscar nod for Best Screenplay.

Monday, 10/9, 3:00 p.m.: Quartet 2012 PG-13 1h 39m A trio of retired opera singers’ annual celebration of Verdi’s birthday sours when their estranged fourth member shows up but refuses to sing. Starring Taraji Henson & Octavia Spencer.

Monday, 10/16, 3:00 p.m.: The Shootist 1976 PG 1h 38m An aging gunfighter (John Wayne) decides to go out with a bang after being told he’s dying of cancer. In the short time he has left, the gunfighter settles some unfinished business with a gambler (High O’Brian) and teaches a young friend (Ron Howard) not to follow his example. Also starring Lauren Bacall.

Wednesday, 10/18, 6:30 p.m.: West Side Story 1961 NR 2h 32m Winner of 10 Academy Awards including Best Picture, this classic musical set among the tenements of finds star-crossed lovers Maria and Tony caught in the midst of a turf war between rival street gangs. Monday, 10/23, 3:00 p.m.: Born Yesterday 1950 NR 1h 42m Boorish business tycoon Harry Brock (Broderick Crawford) fears that ditsy fiancée Billie Dawn (July Holliday) will prove an embarrassment in the presence of politicos he wants to influence, so he hires a reporter (William Holden) to tutor the ostensibly brainless blonde in the political and social graces. Brock gets more than he bargained for, however, when the journalist transforms Billie into the backroom dealmaker’s more formidable foe.

Wednesday, 10/25, 6:30 p.m.: Rebecca 1940 NR 2h 10 The only Alfred Hitchcock film to win an Oscar for Best Picture, this mystery stars Laurence Olivier as Maxim de Winter, a widower whose hapless second wife (Joan Fontaine) moves into his mansion only to find the memory of his first wife still governs the household. Intimidated by the home's hostile staff, the living Mrs. de Winter begins to go mad in Hitchcock's eerie adaptation of Daphne Du Maurier's Gothic classic. Also starring Laurence Olivier.

Saturday, 10/28, 1:30 & 6:30 p.m.: The Salesman 2017 PG-13 2h 5m Forced to move when their apartment building nearly collapses, Emad and Rana find a new flat, unaware that the prior tenant was a hooker. When Rana unwittingly lets in a stranger and is assaulted, Emad sets out to find and punish his wife's attacker. Starring Shahab Hosseini & Taraneh Alidoosti.
