Election-2018/195/ July 14, 2018 by TCS ELECTION - 2018 CAP/Election-2018/195/ July 14, 2018 By TCS ELECTION - 2018 All Members Constructors Association of Pakistan (CAP) Subject: Announcement of Election Schedule for CAP Executive Committee Dear Sir, This is to inform that the Executive Committee of Constructors Association of Pakistan (CAP) in its 105th meeting held on Thursday the 12ndJuly, 2018 at CAP Office, Lahore, under the chairmanship of Engr. Kamal Nasir Khan, Chairman CAP, has decided that the total number of seats for the Executive Committee of CAP for the term 2018-2020 will be twenty-eight (28) with following breakup: - a) Sixteen (16) seats of Corporate Members. b) Ten (10) seats of Associate Members. c) Two (02) seats reserved for Women entrepreneurs. According to the Trade Organization Rules, 2013, seven (07) seats of Corporate Members and four (04) seats of Associate Members will continue for the year 2018-2020. That being the case election for electing the fifteen (15) vacant seats of executive committee of Constructors Association of Pakistan (CAP) for the term 2018-2020 will be held as per following: - a) Nine (09) vacant seats of Corporate Members. b) Six (06) vacant seats of Associate Members, and c) Two (02) vacant seats reserved for Women entrepreneurs. The following thirteen (13) members of executive committee will retire after completing two years’ term with effect from 30th September, 2018 as per Trade Organization Rules, 2013: - Corporate Members: 1. 2. Thursday Holding of Executive Committee meeting for approval of election 12thJuly, 2018 schedule. Last date for announcement of election schedule & appointment of election commission for display: Saturday a) at the notice board at head office of CAP; th 14 July, 2018 b) at the website of CAP; and 3 c) submitted to the Regulator. Page Start receiving Nomination Papers (July 16 to August 16, 2018). Monday Receipt of Nomination Paper from the consenting members (duly 16thJuly, 2018 proposed and seconded by a registered voter and signed by the candidate) by the Secretary General) Last date for intimation by member firms desiring to change their Tuesday representative i.e. name of representative to the Secretary General 17th July, 2018 along with necessary proof of eligibility. Last date for display of provisional list of voters eligible to vote along with their national tax number, sales tax registration number, if applicable, the name and national identity card number of their Saturday representative) on: 21stJuly, 2018 a) Notice Board at head office; b) Website of CAP Last date for receipt of any objection by the members to the entries Saturday in the list of voters. (Members shall send their objections in writing to 28thJuly, 2018 the Secretary General). Last date by which the Secretary General will intimate action on the Wednesday objections or changes sent by member. 1stAugust, 2018 Last date for making representation to the election commission by the Saturday members aggrieved by the decision of Secretary General. 4thAugust 2017 Last date for making appeal to the Regulator by the members aggrieved by the decision of election commission. Tuesday 7thAugust, 2018 Regulator shall decide the case within 10 days and his decision in this regard shall be final. Last date for receipt of objections, if any, to the nomination of Saturday candidates/filing of withdrawal application from elections of 18thAugust, 2018 executive committee by contesting candidate. Last date by which election commission will finalize objection / Monday withdrawal applications. 20thAugust, 2018 Last date for filing of appeal with Regulator by the Member aggrieved Tuesday by the decision of election commission. 21stAugust, 2018 Tuesday Last date for receipt of decision of Regulator. 28thAugust, 2018 Thursday 29th August, 2018 Last date for issuance of final list of candidates. a. Polling for election of Members of Executive Committee, b. finalization of nomination of two (2) seats reserved for women Saturday c. announcement of provisional result 1st September, d. and draw to determine the members who will retire after one year 2018 in case the executive committee increases the numbers of executive committee members than the preceding year. Submission of nomination papers (3 to 8 Sept) by the newly elected Executive Committee Members for election as: Monday 3rd September, Chairman, Senior Vice Chairman and Vice Chairmen of Provinces, duly 2018 proposed and seconded by an elected Executive Committee Member and signed by the candidate to the Election Commission). Last date for scrutiny of nomination papers of office bearers by the Monday commission and or withdrawal of nomination papers and display of 10th September, final list of candidates. 2018 Saturday 15th September, Polling for election of office bearers and announcement of Result 2018 Holding of AGM for the following: Saturday a) Announcement of final result of election of members of executive 22nd September, committee and office bearers; 2018 b) Approval of annual audited accounts of CAP; c) Appointment of Auditors of CAP for next financial year 2017-2018. 5 Page The followings papers are enclosed: - a) List of Corporate Members (Annexure-A). b) List of Associate Members (Annexure-B). c) Nomination paper and withdrawal slip. The electoral college for two (2) reserved seats of women entrepreneurs against reserved seats shall be the executive committee of Constructors Association of Pakistan (CAP). Nomination paper duly proposed and seconded by a registered voter and signed by the candidate will be received up to Thursday the 16thAugust, 2018 upto 05:00 PM on all working days. Withdrawal slip will be accepted up to Saturday the 18thAugust, 2018 up to 05:00 PM on all working days. In complete nomination paper will not be accepted. Nomination paper through email or fax will not be accepted. The sole aim behind the formation of Constructors Association of Pakistan (CAP) was to establish a body looking after the interests of the Constructors/contractors in the Country. Established by the leading contractor's/construction companies of Pakistan in the year 1998 and granted a licence under Section-3 of the Trade Organization Ordinance 1961, by the Ministry of Commerce, Government of Pakistan, (DGTO). It is duly represented on the General body of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI). CAP membership is open to all construction companies working in Pakistan as per conditions laid down in the CAP Memorandum and Articles of Association and subject to the approval of the Executive committee.
