The sight of Mount Kilimanjaro ignited a dream to climb the Seven Summits, the Explorers Grand Slam.2006 (after graduation) found Colin cycling from Connecticut to Oregon, a 4000 mile journey to raise money and awareness for Habitat for Humanity. Prior to beginning his professional career in finance, Colin began backpacking around the world but his trip was cut short by an accident in Thailand, where 25% of his body was burned, mostly damaging his legs and feet. He was told by his doctors that he may never regain his ability to walk normally but Colin defied this prognosis and trained and placed first overall (amateur) at the 2009 Chicago Triathlon. Since then Colin has turned Pro, competing in 22 countries on six continents - representing the United States in the Triathlon. The challenge, Beyond 7/2- January 2016 Colin set out to shatter a world record, summiting the tallest peak on each of the seven continents, ski the last degree to the North and South Poles in less than six months. On May 27th he accomplished his goal, Lovely Cardettes take a Breather. Yearbook completing the Grand Slam in 139 days.
