The Big Sky is an NCAA Divi- sion I member in all sports, with member institutions BIG SKY CONFERENCE INSTITUTIONS classifi ed in the Football Championship Subdivision Cal State University Sacramento (formally I-AA). For the fi fth straight year, the Big Sky is Sacramento, Calif. a nine-team league. T Member since 1996 The current lineup includes Eastern Washington, Idaho State, Eastern Washington University Montana, Montana State, Northern Arizona, Northern Colorado, Cheney, Wash. Portland State, Sacramento State and Weber State. Northern Member since 1987 Colorado is the newest member of the league, having joined the conference in 2006. Idaho State University Pocatello, Idaho The league has become one of the strongest Division I confer- Charter member since 1963 ences in the West and is a national leader in the Football Cham- pionship Subdivision. Five times, Big Sky teams have won the University of Montana Division I National Championship, and Montana has played for the Missoula, Mont. title each of the past two seasons. Charter member since 1963 The Big Sky Conference was established in 1963 by six charter Montana State University Bozeman, Mont. members – Idaho, Idaho State, Gonzaga, Montana, Montana Charter member since 1963 State and Weber State.
