  • Four Direct Routes to Winning Grand National Bets…
www.againstthecrowd.co.uk Four direct routes to winning Grand National bets…. (Race to be run Saturday April 8th 2017) Beat the bookies in the biggest race of all…. There is no bigger race than the Grand National. It is impossible to be British and NOT know what the Grand National is. People all over the world are aware of the race. It’s the most valuable jumps race in Europe. Last year the prize money handed out to connections of the winner and the horses that finished directly behind him amounted to more than a million pounds. On Saturday 8th April when this year’s field goes to post at Aintree, people all over the planet will be tuning in to enjoy the spectacle on television…. The race is unique. A field of 40-horses slug it out over 30 fences and a four-and-a-half mile-trip. The names of the fences resonate like characters out of some old story enjoyed as a child. Bechers, Canal Turn, Valentines Brook, the Chair…. The Grand National fences are idiosyncratic. Much-different to ordinary park racecourse fences and instantly recognisable. They have lost some of the terror of yesteryear – but they still present the ultimate test of both horse and jockey. There is no race quite like the Grand National. The horse that wins must possess a bit of everything. A bit of speed, the ability to jump, bravery, the capacity to remain calm under pressure and, at the death, he must possess stamina – and plenty of it. After jumping massive fences for 4-miles at speed, the winner must dig deep and find the reserves to get up the straight, past the elbow and over the line with the rest still toiling behind him.

Mr Frisk records the fastest time ever in the Grand National, coming 1990 home in 8m 47.80s under Marcus Armytage. Now racing correspondent 30 YEARS AGO of the Daily Telegraph, Armytage is the latest amateur rider to win the great race. American amateur Charlie Fenwick partners 40/1 chance Ben Nevis to 1980 victory. It is the second of three Grand National victories for trainer Tim Forster. Forster, always a notorious pessimist, simply told Fenwick “to 40 YEARS AGO keep on remounting”.

  • The Inevitable Dark Horse
Editor's Welcome It's just a few weeks now to Cheltenham 2019 and we've got our fingers crossed that the flu doesn't catch us out again. Nevertheless our preparation is on track and all our new systems this month target festival winners. Nick Hardman looks at which races the top trainers’ target, or at least which ones the stats say they are most likely to win. And John Burke looks at sire stats which is an underutilised winner finding method that can deliver some value winners for us. John has the full lowdown and the systems to follow. By the way readers of On Course Profits can now get free daily tips from John Burke, if you've not already opted in for those you can do so using the link below. The tips come from either his Consistent Profits service or his Victor Value service, both are in fine form. https://www.oncourseprofits.com/jb-free-tips John also shares part two of his Trends Betting guide which culminates next month with the full method explained. Inside you'll also find a history lesson on the Aintree racecourse ahead of some key winner finding stats that will be coming next month. James Pacheco is back this month with his tips for the Cricket World Cup along with a very thorough review of his reasoning for making the selections. And finally we have a Q&A with the excellent Miles Tredwell who is a very good tipster that you may know from the Betting Rant and Agora Publishing.
