The Mungret school completed a grand slam of football trophies when the Larkin Shield girls football team crowned a wonderful year by capturing the Celtic Image Shield. A thrilling final saw St Nessan’s reverse the result of the previous year when they toppled reigning champions Roxborough NS. Close marking at the Celtic Image Goes West Again Shield Final The growth in popularity of ladies football, both Celtic Image Glory among players and spectators, is one of the most remarkable features of modern Irish sport and, judging by the third running of the Allianz Larkin Shield, this trend is set to continue. Showcase Dear Sirs, My favourite team is Limerick. I know they haven’t been that successful lately, but they’re my home county.
