A David Butler half performance that saw off the challenge of Emyvale in this goal helped Carrick lead by 1-6 to 0-4 at half-time, but the first two entertaining and at times exciting contest that was played as the scores after the restart were goals for the Harps. The first of those curtain raiser to the final of the Intermediate football championship came when a long-range free from Aodhán Óg McAnespie landed in Inniskeen. Emyvale had marginally the better of things in the in the net, while the second was via substitute Alan Ryan. This year Monaghan along with our neighbours Cavan and Fermanagh hosted the John West Féile Peile Na nóg tournament on the weekend of Friday 23RD June to Sunday 25th June 2017 which is a festival of football for U14 boys and girls. This is one of largest youth sporting events with around 15k/20k players and supporters from the 32 counties of Ireland, Britan and the USA participating. In total 240 teams took part with 36 teams (24 boys and 12 girls) participating from Monaghan. It was a most enjoyable weekend for all involved and provided an opportunity for our clubs and county to showcase our excellent facilities in the best possible light and also create lasting links with visiting clubs. Hosting Féile is reliant on much support at local level and I wish to thank our individual clubs, club Féile organising committee in the months leading up to officers, children’s officers, Féile officers and host the event and throughout the weekend. Basis of audit opinion We conducted our audit in accordance with Auditing Standards issued by the Auditing Practices Board. An audit includes examination, on a test basis, of evidence relevant to the amounts and disclosures in the financial statements. It also includes an assessment of the significant estimates and judgements made by the officers in the preparation of the financial statements, and of whether the accounting policies are appropriate, consistently applied and adequately disclosed.

1. Accounting Policies The following accounting policies have been applied consistently in dealing with items which are considered ŵĂƚĞƌŝĂůŝŶƌĞůĂƚŝŽŶƚŽƚŚĞĐŽŵƉĂŶLJ͛ƐĨŝŶĂŶĐŝĂůƐƚĂƚĞŵĞŶƚƐ͘

1.1 Accounting convention The accounts are prepared under the historical cost convention modified when necessary to include the revaluation of certain fixed assets.

1.2 Tangible Fixed Assets and Depreciation Depreciation is provided at rates calculated to write off the cost or valuation less residual value of each asset over its expected useful life, as follows:
