Press Release Burleigh has Teatime boxed for you! A new gifting concept showcases the pottery’s tea time pieces Burleigh, the iconic Made in England Potters, has extended its gifting range to include Tea wares. Focused on tea time china, this range offers a bespoke gifting solution across a range of Burleigh’s best loved handcrafted and hand-decorated ceramics which have been produced in the same labour intensive way since Burleigh was established in 1851. Attractively gift packaged, the boxes were inspired by the wooden packing crates which were once used to ship Burleigh around the world. You don’t have to wrap them up, just add a gift tag or a ribbon. Burleigh’s gift boxed Teatime includes: • Teacup, Saucer & Tea Plate • Breakfast Cup, Saucer & Tea Plate • Small Teapot • Cow Creamer All gift sets are available in Burleigh’s best-selling collections but mix well with existing pottery for a characterful and practical gift with fascinating provenance. Burleigh uses skills you won’t find anywhere else in the world. The patterns are created from engraved copper rollers which in themselves are works of art. Used daily to print Burleigh’s patterns onto a special fine tissue paper which is then painstakingly and skilfully applied to the pot. Each part of the process of making Burleigh requires skill, patience and experience and Burleigh pottery passes through many pairs of hands during its crafting journey through the pottery. It is this dedication in preserving time honoured skills which makes Burleigh the way it is today and always has been. Burleigh can be seen on the Poole Pottery stand at Harrogate Home & Gift Buyers’ Festival 2019 in Hall DP4, Stand DP4-2 14th-17 July 2019. Established in Stoke-on-Trent in 1851 and world famous for its blue and white ceramics which are hand made in England using traditional techniques. Its best selling ‘Asiatic Pheasants’ design has been loved by generations and has been made in the same way since 1862. Burleigh is the choice of some of world leading retailers and restaurants including: Fortnum and Mason, Harrods, Liberty, Chiltern Fire House, Ralph Lauren, Soho House group, The Ned and online at burleigh.co.uk. Burleigh is the only pottery in the world to decorate using tissue transfer printing from hand engraved copper plates. This 250 year old process takes seven years to master and is just one of many skills that caused HRH The Prince of Wales to step in to save Burleigh’s historic home, Middleport Pottery, in 2011. www.burleigh.co.uk.
