Dabei bieten wir unseren Kunden prak- tisch in allen GT3- und GT4-Formaten die bestmögliche Unterstützung und können im Gegenzug Programm durch sie auf der ganzen Welt Siege und Titel feiern. Diese Breite der Erfolge, sowie der jüngste Erfolge Triumph beim FIA GT World Cup und unsere Serie mit vier Macau-Siegen seit 2014, unterstreichen Serien / Rennen unseren Anspruch auf eine Führungsrolle im GT-Segment. Die Weiterentwicklungen im Fahrzeug- bereich heben unser Customer Racing Programm, das 2020 ins bereits zehnte Jahr geht, nun auf Mercedes-AMG GT3 die nächste Stufe. Wir alle freuen uns auf die neue Saison. Die Weichen sind auf Erfolg gestellt! Donau, August 18, 2020 – When the starting lights for the Nürburgring 24 Hours go out on September 26, Audi Sport wants to fight for the sixth overall victory with a strong line-up. Since the beginning of the customer racing program in 2009 the brand has already won the endurance classic five times with the GT3 sports car Audi R8 LMS. No other manufacturer was as successful in this era. “We have succeeded in shaping an era at the Nürburgring in just over a decade. At our twelfth start we now want to fight for our sixth overall victory,” says Chris Reinke, Head of Audi Sport customer racing. Like last year, the long-standing Audi Sport customer teams Car Collection Motorsport, Land-Motorsport and Phoenix Racing, together with the team from Audi Sport customer racing, are each entrusted with the deployment of one R8 LMS. In addition, the brand expects further entries by private teams in various classes. A total of twelve experienced professional drivers who compete for Audi in DTM, Formula E and customer racing share the three cockpits.

    Maro Engel en Toksport WRT bezorgen Mercedes-AMG eerste pole bij Hankook 24H DUBAI sinds 2017 DUBAI (9 januari 2020) – De Duitser Maro Engel, een voormalig winnaar van de FIA GT World Cup, had sinds 2017 niet meer op het Dubai Autodrome geracet, maar dat weerhield hem er geenszins van om de pole-position voor de 15e editie van de Hankook 24H DUBAI van dit weekeinde voor zich op te eisen. Zijn rondetijd van 1:57,490 minuten op het 5,390 kilometer lange Dubai Autodrome was voor Engel genoeg om met de Toksport WRT-Mercedes-AMG GT3 (#777, Maro Engel / Luca Stolz / Philip Ellis / Patrick Assenheimer / Martin Konrad) de pole- position veilig te stellen. Voor Mercedes-AMG was het ook de eerste pole-position bij de Hankook 24H DUBAI sinds 2017. “Deze heb ik echt aan het team te danken, de jongens hebben een ongelooflijke klus geklaard door onze auto na schade in de testdag van gisteren weer te repareren. Ik geloof dat ze tot vier uur vanmorgen bezig geweest zijn, dus het is mooi om iets terug te kunnen geven”, zei Maro Engel na de kwalificatie. “Als altijd speelde het verkeer in de tijdtraining een belangrijke rol, maar ik kon een redelijk fatsoenlijke ronde rijden, die genoeg was voor de pole-position.” De Nederlander Jeroen Bleekemolen reed met de Black Falcon-Mercedes- AMG GT3 (#4, Khaled Al Qubaisi / Hubert Haupt / Ben Barker / Manuel Metzger / Jeroen Bleekemolen) de tweede tijd, slechts 0,047 seconden achter Engel. Daarmee was de volledige eerste startrij in handen van Mercedes- AMG-teams. Donau, July 1, 2019 – For the 24 Hours of Spa from July 25 to 28, Audi Sport customer racing expects more than ten Audi R8 LMS on the grid. The 24-hour race is part of the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup. It is also the third in five rounds of the Intercontinental GT Challenge for which Audi Sport has nominated four race cars. Audi Sport has won the iconic endurance race with the Audi R8 LMS four times so far – in 2011, 2012, 2014 and 2017. In the battle for its fifth victory, Audi relies on proven teams with a successful track record. Audi Sport Team WRT – the 2011 and 2014 winning team – is fielding two Audi R8 LMS cars for Audi Sport customer racing. Audi Sport drivers Frank Stippler and Dries Vanthoor, who won the 24 Hours of Nürburgring a week ago, will be sharing a cockpit with the Spaniard Alex Riberas. Robin Frijns, Nico Müller and René Rast, three of the six Audi factory drivers in the DTM, are going to drive another Audi R8 LMS of the Belgian team. Rast has previously won the race back in 2012 with Frank Stippler and a second time in 2014.

After 3,824 kilometers, Jules Gounon/Christopher Haase/Markus Winkelhock had a winning advantage of 11.862 seconds. In a very balanced competition, four marques were battling for victory up until the end and ultimately claimed the top four positions. Audi Sport Team Saintéloc in its first factory-backed commitment with Audi Sport customer racing shone with a convincing performance. In the world’s toughest GT3 race, the number 25 Audi R8 LMS ran impeccably, its drivers having stayed clear of all trouble and ending the race without any sporting penalties. In the penultimate hour of the race, Christopher Haase chased leader Raffaele Marciello over several laps until the Italian pitted. Following his own final service and the stops of his rivals, the 29-year-old Audi Sport campaigner took the lead and went on to celebrate his first victory at Spa. For Jules Gounon from the South of France, this success marked the first one he has clinched in this race and together with Audi as well.

With third place overall in Phoenix Racing's Audi LMS R8 Marc Bronzel (Siek), Luca Ludwig (Roisdorf), Dennis Rostek (Porta Westfalica) and Markus Winkelhock (Berglen) presented the team with an unexpected surprise since this quartet did not even number among the favorites before the race started. The conservative and mechanically easy going driving style of the Phoenix squad, however, paid dividends: The Audi R8 LMS with start number 97 ran – apart from a small electronical problem during the opening stages – with the smallest technical problem. Of particular note was the performance of DTM driver Markus Winkelhock, who, after only landing a drive in the Phoenix team at the last moment, drove constantly fast lap times without any experience of the Nordschleife and in the closing stages convincingly defended the class lead.
