Introduction 1. The first stage of the process was the Pre-Draft consultation, where notice was given that the County Development Plan, 2016-2022 is to be reviewed and a New Plan made for the County. This report is a summary of the 151 submissions received and the Chief Executives response to same. The structure of this report is set out in the Planning and Development Act, 2000 as amended (Section 11(4)(b)). The report must be submitted to the Elected Members for their consideration. Following consideration of this report, the Elected Members of the Planning Authority may issue directions regarding the preparation of the Draft Plan. In accordance with Section 11(4)(d) of the Act, any such directions shall be strategic in nature, consistent with the Draft Core Strategy, shall take account of statutory obligations of the Local Authority in the area and any relevant policies or objectives for the time being of the Government or any Minister of the Government. The Chief Executive shall comply with any such directions. In issuing directions, the Members are restricted to considering the proper planning and sustainable development of the area to which the Development Plan relates.
