Bankhead Theater Exhibition Program 2400 First Street, Livermore CONTACT: Anne GianCola, Bothwell Arts Center, [email protected] Call For Art: Visual Rhythm A call for traditional, stylized, and abstracted representations of the theme “Birds”. This exhibit is produced by the Bothwell Arts Center and the Livermore Valley Performing Arts Center (LVPAC). Participants are invited to submit works on canvas, wood panel, or similar substrate in any 2-or 3 dimensional medium that is suitable for hanging. Work will be juried by LVPAC and will be judged by originality, interpretation, quality, demonstration of ability, and use of medium. Dates: • Deadline to submit work: April 10, 2017 • Artist notification: April 21, 2017 • Delivery date and time: May 2, noon-1 pm • Exhibit Dates: May 3— June 26, 2017 • Pick-up date and time: June 27, 2017, noon-1 pm • Reception: Saturday, May 20, 1-3 pm Entry Fee: Please submit entries electronically. Upload to 3 electronic images to [email protected] by April 10, 6 pm. Include your name, titles of pieces, sizes of pieces, medium, and price for sale. You will be informed of qualifying work(s) via email by April 21. Submit images as separate 300 dpi jpg attachments, size not to exceed 1920 x 1920 pixels. Title the jpg image files in the following format: LastnameFirstname_Title_Medium_dimensions (ie. DoeJohn_BirdFlying_Photograph_11x14). Subject line to read: Visual Rhythm $25 entry for up to 3 images. Once entry is submitted, fees are non-refundable regardless of acceptance into the exhibition. Please pay entry fee at this link: https://livermoreperformingarts.secure.force.com/ticket/#sections_a0F36000008YRYJEA4 Submissions must represent the actual artwork as closely as possible. Well-done giclees are acceptable. Work should be ready to hang by a wire; no clips, nails, tape squares and other insecure hangers will be accepted. A label should be attached to the back of each artwork listing your name, the title of the work, price, and medium. Upon delivery, artists will be required to sign a release form giving LVPAC the right to exhibit their work and waiving liability in the event of damage or theft. If you are shipping artwork, it must be received by April 10. Ship artwork carefully, in a box, with padding. LVPAC will not be held responsible for theft of art nor damage during shipping to and from the gallery. Any work that is not picked up within 1 week or is not prepared for return shipping will become the property of LVPAC. LVPAC does not provide insurance for work that is damaged or stolen. All work must remain up for the duration of the show. LVPAC will handle all sales and send payment to the artists. If your artwork sells, 75% will go to you, and 25% to the gallery. LVPAC requires artists to complete a W-9 for sales in excess of $600. LVPAC will make every effort to promote the exhibition through invitations and other forms of publicity. About the Bankhead Theater Artist Exhibitions have been held since the theater opened in 2007 and have provided many theatergoers with artful experiences. The Bankhead Theater is a part of the Livermore Valley Performing Arts Center— the heart of a vibrant cultural arts community. www.lvpac.org. All art sales help to support the Bothwell Arts Center, another arm of the Livermore Performing Arts Center, a not for profit corporation. The Bothwell Arts Center provides affordable studio, rehearsal, classroom and performance space for those who work in, teach or study the arts, and has become an essential and highly valued venue supporting those striving to share the cultural arts with the community. A variety of spaces, including a large auditorium, are available for public and private events that have a cultural arts focus. Meetings, rehearsals, recitals, classes and performances are held here frequently. Both of the Bothwell sites are arts incubator projects of the Livermore Valley Performing Arts Center (LVPAC), a not-for- profit corporation that also owns and operates the Bankhead Theater.
