Senior free safety Kam’ron Johnson is the ‘Jacks’ top returning tackler from last season with 81 stops in 2017. He also picked off a team-best four passes, one of which he took back for a score. Manning the corners are junior Maurice Davison and junior Khalil Dorsey, who combined for 23 starts last season. Dorsey notched three intercep ons and 49 tackles. Davison added three picks of his own and led the squad with 10 pass breakups. Adding depth to this stout unit is junior Marcel Myers and sophomores Anthony Sweeney and Elijah Orr.

TWO-SPORT STAR Sophomore Khalil Dorsey was more than just a football player in his debut season at NAU. An honorable men on all-conference cornerback, Dorsey doubled up and competed on the Lumber- jack track & fi eld team as well in the spring.

A er star ng seven of 11 games on the gridiron in 2016, Dorsey played a big role in the Lumberjacks capturing the 2017 Big Sky Indoor Track & Field Championship. He was a bronze medalist in the 60-meter hurdles at the indoor conference championships and placed fi h in the long jump. Dorsey registered a fi h-place fi nish in the 110-meter hurdles at the Big Sky Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

As a prep at Colony High School, Dorsey competed in both foot- ball and track & fi eld.

SPECIAL TEAMS NOTES BREAKING DOWN THE SPECIAL TEAMS Junior kicker Griffi n Roehler returns for his third season as the ‘Jacks’ primary kicker. He connected on 13-of-20 fi eld goals last season and 42-of-46 PAT a empts. He was a solid 3-of-4 on fi eld goals from longer than 40 yards, including a career-best 46 yarder.
