A 9-3 victory over the Reds on Wednesday night -- aided by a three-run first inning and five-run fourth -- was their fifth win in a row. "Collectively, we were all going through a down period [in the first half of the season]," infielder Tommy La Stella said. "The talent has always been there. It's starting to turn for us right now, and turn at the right time." With the Brewers' 4-2 loss to the Giants, the Cubs opened a season-high 3 1/2-game lead in the division. In the midst of playing 13 straight games against last-place teams -- the Blue Jays, Reds and Phillies -- Chicago has won seven of the first nine games. For the season series, the Cubs have also won 10 of 15 games vs. the Reds. The new partnership will bring some of the most exciting prospects in the game to Blue Wahoos Stadium alongside the storied legacy of Twins baseball. Twins history began in 1961 when Washington Senators president Calvin Griffith made the historic decision to move his family’s team to the Midwest, settling on the Minneapolis/St. Paul area in Minnesota. The new team was named after the state’s famous Twin Cities and began their inaugual season with a talented roster featuring Harmon Killebrew, Bob Allison, Camilo Pascual, and Jim Lemon.     Cincinnati Reds Press Clippings March 19, 2016 THIS DAY IN REDS HISTORY 2014 - A Cactus League game between the Reds and Royals is abruptly stopped in the 6th inning when Reds closer Aroldis Chapman is struck in the face by a line drive off the bat of Salvador Perez. Chapman is taken off the field on a stretcher, with fractures above his eye and in his nose, as well as multiple lacerations.The two managers then elect not to continue play, with the blessing of home plate umpire Chris Guccione. MLB.COM Adam Duvall, Tyler Holt bookend Reds' win By Adam McCalvy / MLB.com | @AdamMcCalvy | March 18th, 2016 + 166 COMMENTS PHOENIX -- Adam Duvall had three hits for the Reds, including a long, two-run home run, and Chris Carter hit his third homer for the Brewers as the teams battled back and forth Friday at Maryvale Baseball Park. The Reds ultimately prevailed, 7-6. Carter hit a solo home run in the fourth inning, Kirk Nieuwenhuis hit a tying triple in the fifth and Rymer Liriano lifted a go-ahead sacrifice fly in the sixth as part of a middle-inning comeback for the Brewers, who had won four of their previous five games. But the Reds quickly tied the game at 5 in the seventh inning on Jake Cave's two-out single. Colorado's All-Star third baseman went 2-for-3 to raise his spring batting average to .500 and took Cincinnati starter Brandon Finnegan deep in the third inning. "He's just really good," Rockies manager Walt Weiss said of Arenado. "He made another unbelievable play to start a double play. We see it pretty much on a daily basis." However, down one run in the ninth, Reds third baseman Seth Mejias-Brean hit a two-run single and first baseman Brandon Allen delivered an RBI double to put Cincinnati on top. The Rockies cut the deficit to one run on Rafael Ynoa's sacrifice fly in the bottom half, but that was all they would get. Colorado took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on Charlie Blackmon's RBI single before Arenado extended it to 2-0. That held up through the three-inning spring debut of Rockies starter Jorge De La Rosa, who set down all nine batters he faced.
