With the first board established in 1980 and significant growth through the 80s, the boards have provided a vital and vibrant link between the university and industry, fostering a mutually beneficial exchange of ideas, advice, and resources—both human and capital—for nearly three decades. Today, the WPI Advisory Boards comprise a remarkable group of 189 women and men who are leaders in their respective fields. Advisory Board members hail from across the United States and around the world. They represent 116 companies, 25 academic institutions, and 12 government or not-for-profit agencies. And they lend their invaluable expertise to 19 WPI departments and programs. 1 BIOLOGY AND BIOTECHNOLOGY David F.
