The Crescent Grange Community Location: 7901 W 120th Ave.

Contact: Butter Wilde: [email protected] The Broomfield Crescent Grange Community Garden is a true communal garden space which is shared, worked, and harvested by all its volunteers. The Crescent Grange holds deep agricultural ties and implements practices. The Garden provides tremendous community outreach by providing many educational workshops and programs geared towards and community engagement.

Birch Community Garden Location: 1080 Birch Street (Salvation Army) Contact: Sharon Josephs: [email protected] The Birch Community Garden is located on Broomfield Salvation Army property in a quaint residential setting. The Garden contains 18 individual plots and 3 large, food donation plots, which provided over 1000 lbs of donated produce to local organizations in need last year. The Birch Garden partners with Birch Elementary and other local organizations to provide garden based educational opportunities to children and the community.

CenturyLink’s Community Garden Location: 10700 Ridge Pkwy Contact: Sondra Smith: [email protected] Century Link's Giving Garden was funded entirely by outside donations and built through the exceptional efforts of over 450 volunteers. This Community Garden is set over the beautiful backdrop of the surrounding mountain range and consists of 56 raised beds. A portion of each member's harvest is donated to local food banks through scheduled Harvest Days.

Discovery Church Community Garden Location: 2605 W 144th Ave. Contact: Nancy Movick: [email protected] The Discovery Church Community Garden is open to all members of the community to participate. The Garden is located adjacent to the Church and is organized by the Discovery Church members. The garden consists of 21 garden beds of varying size.

The Veteran’s Peace Garden Location: 825 Kohl St. Contact: Mark Stevens: [email protected] The Veteran’s Peace Garden is supported and maintained by military and Peace Corp. Veterans, Scouts, families, and neighbors. The garden is a unique space which honors a variety of heritages, cultures, and beliefs. This sacred space is located on the property of the United Church of Broomfield and open to all who wish to participate. The garden is a shared, communal, safe space to honor peace, people, and cultures.

Emerald Elementary Location: 275 Emerald Street Contact: Leslie Norcross: [email protected] The Emerald Elementary School garden works in partnership with the Grow Foundation to enrich student education, engage parents, and help our community address health and environmental issues through their Garden to Table Program. Parent volunteers and teachers work together to maintain 8 raised beds and provide easy to implement, garden based, grade specific lessons to students through hands on learning.

COMMUNITY GARDENS IN BROOMFIELD The Kohl Elementary School Garden is utilized to provide lessons and experiences to students. The garden was created as part of the outdoor classroom in the 2011. It consists of 6 raised beds and 7 barrel planters and is funded through grants and donations. Partnerships with Eagle Scouts and Tagawa Gardens have also helped to support the garden. In 2012 the garden helped Therese’s class win the Disney Planet Challenge for the state of Colorado.
